Cleric / Paladin needs more bite, help?

Advice

My Pathfinder group is adventuring our way through some mythic stuff, saving the word from the Worldwound and the like. The people that can actually show up week to week rotates quite a bit due to commitments but our group is: Two Weapon Ranger, Wizard, Alchemist, Arcane Trickster (often missing), Cleric, Cleric (me). We had a Paladin but he can no longer make it so I multiclassed 4/2 cleric/paladin to take up his holy sword (thinking it would be necessary to the story.)

Long story short we tried to balance so that if anyone, or multiple anyones, was missing we could pick up the slack. But now I'm feeling the bite of multiclassing and am not sure I'm of much value other than carrying a sword that seems to be gaining power. The GM has said he's willing to be flexible if we need to fix my character (deific guidance is easy to work into the Mythic story so he can make it fit.)

We are about to hit level 7 and mythic tier 2. I feel like Cleric/Paladin just overlaps so much without adding much, that I'm behind a few levels in power. But maybe I'm just not seeing the possibilities? I originally build as a bit of a caster cleric, however a rebuild isn't all that out of the question according to GM. So, any ideas on how to make a viable Cleric/Paladin or should I go pure one way or the other (and I'm fine with either)?

Oracle/Paladin builds seem to synergise better than Cleric/Paladin while maintaining a similar flavor (You mention deific guidance, which might work very well with an cleric-to-oracle transformation). Not needing Wisdom makes you significantly less MAD. The "Oradin", Life Oracle 4/Paladin X is a pretty popular choice in this regard. It looks like your Wizard and other Cleric should be able to cover the full-progression caster aspects if you choose to take a more frontline role.

I'm not familiar with Mythic rules, so I couldn't comment on those aspects though.

straight class paladins can be pretty badass. with very little effort they have exceptional survivability, which frees them up to invest in dealing damage. it looks like right now your only melee is a 2WF ranger so another melee might be a really strong option.

Depending on how flexible your GM is and considering your party's lineup has changed would it be acceptable to retcon or retrain to pure paladin?

That's the route I'd suggest.

I currently Play a Hosplitar Paladin. Very Self sufficent as a healer and a tank.

Full Cleric makes a strong frontliner as well. You stand to lose a lot more by multiclassing Paladin.

I "think" the GM will be up to anything thematic related to religious conversion/influence. The Oradin idea is interesting. The party definitely needs some melee support. The most difficult part of playing with this group though is that we are almost never ALL at the table at the same time.

I recommend full cleric and shifting your Deity to Ragathiel. Dude gets the Rage subdomain of Destruction. His Favored Weapon is the Bastard Sword.

He's my go to deity for Battle Cleric goodness.

Behold him in his greatness that is his awesome Domain selection!

I like the "Oradain" I'm playing in WotR, but it would be stronger offensively as a strait oracle or paladin. Then again my plan was not to hog the spotlight, but to keep everyone alive.

oradin are all about party survivability... they use life link and swift action lay hands to keep the party going strong. its an effective tactic (especially since it doesn't use up any of your move or standard actions) but its not gonna help with damage at all.

a rage cleric is fun but they tend to be pretty MAD. a sacred servant paladin of ragathiel can pick the rage domain too (its one of my favorite builds), but they can't actually rage until 11th and don't get a rage power until 15th which is sad.

I've never played Mythic in any way at all so I don't really know if this suggestion will help or not. But Holy Vindicator? Its already been mentioned that amalgamating too much and you end up MAD before you know it. But there's my "have you considered"?
