Dex for Damage

Advice

Is there any way to use your Dexterity mod for damage in the way that Weapon Finesse allows you to use your Dexterity mod on attack rolls?

The Dervish Dance feat, the Agile Weapon enhancement, Mythic Weapon Finesse, or imported 3.5 content.

There will possibly be a Dex to Damage feat of some sort in the Advanced Class Guide when it comes out.

Lots, listed around areas on the forums but off hand

Dervish dance feat somewhere-works with scimitars only i think

Agile enchantment lets you add it instead of str

I think something called pirranah strike? but I don't know much about it

Piranha strike is the equivalent of Power attack.

Otherwise there are the class features from L5 gunslinger and from the L3 fighter archetype called Trench Fighter which only work with ranged attacks using firearms.

Piranha strike is worse, because it only works on light weapons.

Also, don't forget Trench Fighter and Gunslingers in general, they add DEX to damage with guns.

The Deft Strike class feature from one of the swordlord PrCs.

you can use Dervish Dance with any Heavy Blade using Martial Versatility.

That's an... interesting reading of it.

That's actually pretty cool. But then you're out another feat, and the restriction of keeping a hand free still applies. So the Scimitar is probably the best-in-slot anyways.

Depending on build you could katana at that point. Jumps your average damage up a point at least and you don't look interchangeable with every other dex build in the game. Some would argue it is thematic of a katana build anyways.

Other than that just join me in waiting for a dex/int based swashbuckler archetype?

I believe it was said there would probably/possibly be a dex-to-damage option (presumably with a single chosen weapon) coming with the ACG swashbuckler.

That extra one damage isn't worth the exotic weapon proficiency, let alone Martial Versatility on top of it.

Oh yes, i was following the Swashbuckler thread in the playtest very closely. My dream character would get Dex to damage, Canny Defense and more than two skill points per level. Possibly other class abilities too but i just want a suave and intelligent front liner. They have said the dex part will probably happen, havent seen anything about an armorless archetype though. Sword, buckler and my dashing, open laced, pirate shirt, GTG bro!

Silver Crusade

I believe there is the Agile weapon special ability that adds Dex to damage. It counts as a +1 weapon ability.
