Is there any (PFS legal) way to add non-bard spells to a bard's spell list?

The closest I can find is the page of spell knowledge depending on if "has that spell on her class spell list" is emulatable with use magic device, dodgy at best.

Long story short. I'm looking for a way to let Mayim (My arcane duelist) cast shield and maybe some other buffs, without using wands ("I don't like too many accessories" she says)

Lantern Lodge

Probably not what you're looking for but:

Two World Magic gets you a 0-level spell.

Improved Eldritch Heritage (Arcane) adds two wizard / sorcerer spells to your list. Part of a three feat chain that will also snag you a +3/6 bonus to a skill and a familiar.

Edit: I don't actually know if that is PFS legal, sorry missed that part.

Oooh, I forgot about that. Won't do Mayim much good, (shame there's no 'wasp, giant' option for familiars) but good to remember for other builds.

You could be a Samsaran.

Otherwise Paragon Surge combined with Improved Eldritch Heritage will eventually let you access any wizard list spell of level 6 or lower.

This is legal in PFS.

The Paragon Surge trick is legal if you are a half elf although it isnt a bard spell so you would have to snag it as a Samsaran or UMD a wand/scroll.

I believe the Pathfinder Savant class from Seekers of Secrets can do this.

Also a Ring of Spell Knowledge II would work for shield.

Thanks Majuba. Time to go shopping!

Rings of Spell Knowledge are great for Bards because you don't get much that is above the level which they can add anyway.

Definitly a ring of spell knwoledge or 2. I would take shield & divine favor myself.

There are bard archetypes that do this, but I don't remember if they stack with Arcane Duelist. Magician and Dirge Singer.

Meridian belt would let you have up to four rings, alternating the active two as a swift action. Could be nice if you don't have a belt slot demand and either want multiple non-bard buff spell options or want to have ring options other than two rings of spell knowledge.

I too am making a character who wants access to some cross class buffing spells. In my case it is an dawn flower dervish halfling with fate's favored looking to pick up Divine Favor for the tasty luck bonus. Wondrous. I have picked up a ring of spell knowledge 1 for that particular buff.

If I were going to add spells to a class's list that doesn't have them, I would make it a rule that it would have to be one level higher than any class would normally be able to learn the spell.

In other words:

Fireball is listed as a "sorcerer/wizard 3" spell. I would make it a 4th level bard spell if one of my players wanted to be able to cast it. This also means that any 6th level spells would be out of reach for the bard class.

Silver Crusade

In PFS a Ring of Spell Knowledge cannot be used to gain a spell from a witch's patron list. Unless it appears on another arcane list somewhere that I've missed (and I'd love to be wrong on this one) Divine Favour is not allowed in the Ring.

Here's the quote from Mike Brock: Link

Shield is totally allowed in a Ring of Spell Knowledge II for a bard though.

Dark Archive

This ring of spell knowledge looks interesting. My several summoners will be looking into them!
