so i'm looking for a way to gain both an animal companion and a familiar, which can both be effective on their own.
My idea is to get my familiar the "Master of your kind" feat, then to have him scurry around with his friend
the companion is to be an ape, the familiar is to be a monkey...
Furthermore I want to be as martial as possible here, with a bit of stealth...
I'm going vanara

There is a class called beast master that focusses on animal companion and is mostly martial with no spells.
Then eldritch heritage for familiar.
Or mad dog barbarian.
Or druid with one of those third party archetypes that removes spells.
If you can find a way to get a domain, you can take fur and get a companion at 4th level.
If a DM will let you take a wild blooded as an eldritch heritage, you can get a companion that way too.

You're monkeying with the system :-)
What's your base character?
You could go druid and get eldritch heritage then boon companion and improved familiar (celestial monkey familiar!). Expensive feat-wise, but doable...
I've been eying the ape shaman Druid.... But my class is up in the air at this point.
Ultimately i want to be able to set up ambushes from the treetops/ceilings... and practice all sorts of GORRILLA WARFARE ;)
But sylvan is unfortunately off the table because as the DM says "It also counts as an arcana so you can't gain it"

A Sylvan sorcerer could start with an ape companion and take the eldrich heritage (arcana) feats for a monkey familiar.
A Mad Dog barbarian could do the same, as well as a Beastmaster ranger.
With the racial penalty to Cha though it is tough to have 13 Cha if Cha is not your priority. Just play an ape shaman druid and call it a day.

Ya. That's the problem with it...
If you go with druid, you get wild shape and using Packlord, you can forgoe the familiar and just have a Gorilla Army. :)
All with improved grab? GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF ME YOU DAMNED DIRTY APES!

Mad dog barbarian or ranger might be more up mt alley here,
Also side note for the ape shaman... it can't take the Monkey domain XD

I am currently playing a Beastmaster Ranger. I am going with the concept straight out of the Beastmaster movie. I will be taking Eldritch Heritage at 3rd level for my first weasel and then the Extra Familiar feat from Kobold Games book on Witches for the second weasel. I then plan to use the Beastmaster Archetype to collect the lion and the hawk. I really think this might work for you, use the Skirmisher Ranger Archetype to remove the spells and you are a full martial character. Hope this helps.

With 13 Charisma and 4 feats you could get both Animal Companion (Nature Soul, Animal Ally) and Familiar (Skill Focus: Knowledge (any one) and Eldritch Heritage:Arcane Bloodline)
If you are fighter 4 feats is an expensive but not impossibile
None of those feats are combat feats, so no love there.

human or half-elf, ranger or mad dog barbarian would be easiest/best way to build a martial with both (as others have mentioned- take skill focus/eldritch heritage for the familiar, and boon companion if you went ranger to get full progression companion). anything else you do will be becoming less martial.

I did something simular but for a dino build. Hunter 4 levels sorcerer crossblooded arcane draconic dragon diciple.
Robe of arcane heritage
The familiar gets valet archtype. Now your companions both have all your team work feats (I have out flank persice strike. look out and teamdistraction) animalcompanion has body gaurd. So every combat I can actin the surprise round. If no hunter then mad dog
