How Fully Subscribed is EE?

Some of the people in my gaming guild are with child to be involved in the game, and are salivating at the chance that GW opens up pledges again for EE. Do we know how many slots are filled?

I added up the numbers at the KS page and got 8,992 filled pledges at various EE levels--does that sound right? And that's out of 22,200 total EE slots over 6 months?

There are at least some outstanding guild-level pledge slots for month 1, in addition to the tons of slots that are currently being filled by unspecified means.

Didn't quite follow you there , Decius.

The pledge levels that offered "6x loremaster level" rewards require the person who made the pledge to designate who will receive each reward. I know that there are some people who have undesignated 'buddies' for those pledges.

Also, the fulfillment tool allowed people to buy additional accounts (scheduled to come into the game during "the last phase of Early Enrollment") as add-ons. I was originally a Crowdforger Guild pledge, and added three more accounts in the fulfillment tool; I assume I wasn't the only one to do that, so that would also affect the numbers,

Everyone is just letting that metaphor go?

For a long time there has been the idea to open up EE to a new round of backers. They'd be delayed a few months, after the KS1 and KS2 backers and once they set up a way to transact it and the servers can handle it. Logically they'd also wait until they have something juicy to show off and appeal to people who aren't already waiting at the doorstep to play. My guess would be Q1 or Q2 of 2015 which on the current calendar still averages to nine months before OE.

I read it as the autocorrect of "wantcing" and let it go.

There are plenty of open slots in EE left. We will be opening this up for more crowdfunding soon. As in weeks soon, not months.

"are having kittens?"

Bingo.

Sounds good to me.

That is good news. I hope we will be able to pledge for the Epic Brewmaster or Geography Buff tiers too, since they were not all fulfilled yet either.

Sorry--I read a lot of 19th century literature, and sometimes archaic expressions creep in :) "To be with child" for something is a metaphor indicating eagerness or impatience ("I am with child to see a dew-pond!").

Cool.

I just hope there won't be too many shiny rewards for the latecomers, things above and beyond what the rest of us are getting.
Having backed both Kickstarters I've given my share of the money and don't want to miss out on cool things and perks just because I didn't hold back my money.

Or, alternatively, a cheaper "add content to an existing account" option.

Goblin Squad Member

I backed both Kickstarters as well and I think I was the 76th person to get the Crowdforger Pioneer. So my spot for the 1st month of EE is assured.

However, I would be willing to put more money in if they put in an "add content" stuff in the crowdfunding. Perhaps even different stuff then offered in the 2nd Kickstarter.

Goblin Squad Member

I suspect thee will be plenty of new shiny rewards offered that may entice folks to 'up' their pledges. So long as the money is used well I think that would be a fine thing: some new folks seem to want in who missed the KS.

Goblin Squad Member

Lisa,

what's your thinking on pricing? If you offer more guild 6-packs, would they still be around $500? Or less because some of the goodies included (like Daily Deals) aren't in anymore?

This is great. I didn't hear about Pathfinder Online when it went through its first Kickstarter but have been following the story. I really like what the team has to say about how it is approaching the project and what concepts it has deployed. It looks like a winner to me and I'm keen to back it and be part of it.

Hello Fafyrd and welcome to the PFO Forums. You might find this resource useful (faqs, quotes, links, guild details etc): The "Nihimonicon"

Fire away any questions you may have.

Hopefully in conjunction with Lisa's info above, some new footage. The game is still quite raw at this pre-alpha stage, but nonetheless still impressive relatively.

Goblin Squad Member

If I remember correctly, Ryan and Lisa said there were about 4500 contributors to the kickstarter. So that means many people bought more then once...

Now, you can go with the 8900 then add in 4 additional per guild pledge... etc etc.

I would say we have the first two months filled, the rest to follow lol.

I guessed the meaning from context but I thought man that is really excited more than the average person.

Fun Fact: In French the word plein means full, like a glass full of water. In English the expression "I am full" means stuffed with food from eating a lot. In French the word for word translation "Je suis plein" is an expression meaning "I am with child" and a fairly confusing thing to say after "C'est un grand diner/Wow what a great dinner".

Don't ask how I know.

Could be worse I was doing a french test where you based a story on some pictures. Couldn't remember the word for marmalade so thought about it a little then frenchified some fancy english word. I had my main protagonist putting le preservatif on his toast for breakfast ( I will let the curious look it up ) :)

Had to look it up... LOL.. that was funny.

Goblin Squad Member

I didn't know you could eat that on toast! Much too chewy for my taste. I think I'll stick with jam, thank you.

Goblin Squad Member

With a name like Wexel I should have thought Marmite would be your preferred toast-topping.

Goblin Squad Member

Hmmm, this could be the case but isn't sadly. Raised in Texas so much more of the eggs and hot sauce or jam on toast type. Would love to be more worldly though. I wonder what a name like Being indicates you eat...

Goblin Squad Member

Isn't it "compote" as in "combine into a pot" ?!

Applewood smoked bacon, slightly crisp, two eggs over-easy and some hashbrowned potatoes currently. Good coffee. Pass the salsa?

Goblin Squad Member

As entertaining as the banter is, I thought I'd try once more: Lisa or Ryan, could you offer any thoughts as to whether pricing will be similar to the KS? Would a Guild 6-pack still be in the $500 ballpark?

CEO, Goblinworks

Pricing will be pretty much what the KS pricing was but the packages will have fewer features.

Goblin Squad Member

No destiny's twin for one, and I doubt they will have the PDF's as available if at all.

Goblin Squad Member

Is Twice-Marked of Pharasma going up for selection again?

Not knowing what it does I'm torn between wanting it to be exclusive vs. higher player share making more possible an ongoing developing substory related to it.

Thanks so much for the response.

Liberty's Edge Goblin Squad Member

Having thought about this, it might work well to have a nice cheap option and more of the features/options available as add-ons.
So people who backed a prior Kickstarter (or two) can add extras to their account without feeling pressured to pay a steep price. I don't need much overlap and don't want to pay for the base game again, but I'll throw money at extras.

Although, I'd like to get the content from the previous Kickstarter first (Emerald Spire, minis, etc). So having a third Kickstarter start after those were sent out might be preferred. Or even waiting until EE has started and word of the game is spreading. It'll be easier to get money if the product is much closer to complete, if it's something other people are already playing.

Goblin Squad Member

Until all the spots for the expected EE growth rate are filled, there is no reason not to start another drive as early as possible. If it is a GW/Paizo run affair, rather than a kickstarter, there is no time limit on how long it could run.

Once the projected EE spots are filled, there is still little reason to end it for those that want to purchase further addons. That is unless they want to limit, for some reason, what they want to allow the EE crowd to have going in. In which case they can remove the options that are available as they "sell out."

Generated cash will only encourage and facilitate the game's production. :)

Long time Lurker here, Thanks Ryan and Lisa for posting on this topic.

I just want to say that I missed the kick starter by just a few days when I first heard about this amazing idea that is PFO. I want in. I want in Badly!

If I could post images here you would get the Fry "shut up and take my money" jpeg.

I understand that the kickstarter backers are due certain perks and rightfully so, but the more options for the rest of us would be appreciated.

Glad you could join us, First0f0ne! ...and more perks for those of us who contributed the first and/or second time around would be well received :)

Welcome First0fOne as Being says. Here's a useful resource if you've not seen it already on Guilds, FAQs, interesting posts and links: "Nihimonicon"

Any questions fire away.

Thanks guys! I'm not really new here, just finally got around to making an account to post! I've read all the blogs, many forum posts, and even have listened to the pod casts.

I'm fascinated with the ideas behind this game. I have been selling it to my online gamer buddys for nearly a year now and will likely bring 6 or more with me at least when OE starts.

My point in posting however was to share my eagerness in wanting to give GW my money to help in this project. And in so doing would like to secure a spot in EE and possibly a few other goodies, with the understanding that some things should stay limited to KS backers.
