My item disappeared (and it's not even Illusion School)?

Was wondering if I could get some Paizo staff to check on this and verify that my submission was accepted or if it wasn't, why. It was submitted by the deadline but I never saw it. It isn't in the post-cull database so I think it's been rejected one way or the other. Let me know and I'll PM you the item's name so you can check (don't wanna break the rules and mess with the results, on the chance that's it's still in).

Two things to consider, here.

First, the post-cull DB is just a crowd-sourced fan effort, not an official record of actual contest entries. It is possible that a few items made it through the cull without also appearing in that DB.

Second, none of the items removed in the cull were disqualified. They were all valid contest entries which, for one reason or another, were not popular enough with the voters to have a chance of making the Top 32.

Unless you know that your item clearly violates one of the contest rules, you can rest assured that thousands of voters have seen and voted on your item. In fact, even if your item didn't advance past the cull, some voters may liked it enough to save a copy of your entry so they can adapt it for use in their own home games!

I am pretty sure that PMing your item to a Paizo employee is a disqualification for breaking anonymity. Best thing to do is to PM someone that has voted a lot before the cull to see if they had seen it. After the Top 32 have been revealed, you could post your item in the critique thread and I am sure someone would tell you why it might have been disqualified if that is the case.

Gungnir, are you familiar with the various reasons for disqualification?

There are some which can fell an entry quite quickly, including:

* Are you sure your entry was at 300 words or less?
* If you entry was very close to the word limit (above 290), are you sure you included all the required template information - cost, CL, construction requirements, the whole shebang? Did you include the name of the item within the text of your entry, as the first line? When you omit required information, and if you hadn't left it out then your entry would have been over wordcount, then that's grounds for disqualification.
* Is it possible your entry doesn't fall in the category of Wondrous Items? Might it have been, say, a ring, or a staff, or a weapon?

Hopefully, you read the rules and knew not to make any of these errors... or, you've still got your full entry text, so you can double-check.

If not, I'm afraid I might have only made your paranoia worse... but if so, I hope next year you'll be more paranoid before submission, and get everything perfect for your entry :)

Gungnir, don't worry it is probably in there somewhere. I submitted an entry last year, voted as much as I have this year but never saw it. This year, I've come across my entry 3 times so far so it really is random.

Once the top 32 are announced, if you are not one of those lucky few just post in the have you seen my item thread - I did that last year got confirmation that my item had been seen and survived the cull.
