Nihimon is among the oldest members of this community, but that's not what makes him great.
Nihimon is thoughtful because of the time and effort he puts into things that enhance this community.
Nihimon is caring because he takes the time to welcome every new player and group that starts up on these forums.
Nihimon is well studied because he takes the time to pour through the blogs and developers statements, so that he can always bring relevant information to his discussions and assist others in doing the same.
Nihimon is respectable because of the productive discourse he engages in to help bring fresh ideas to PFO's design, even if we have ended up on opposite sides sometimes.
Nihimon is bold because of his consistent voice in this community, trying to push the game in a direction that will yield a friendlier and more inclusive community.
Nihimon is honorable in that he often tries to extend the olive branch, even to those that sometimes seem undeserving and unwilling to acknowledge their own wrongdoings.
Nihimon is dependable as he is one of the most solid allies you can have.
Nihimon is humble, in that he does not create posts and topics to encourage others to recognize his own greatness, or often speak of his many virtues on these boards.
Nihimon is appreciated, in that he has others willing to take note of these things and do it for him.
Henceforth Nihimon shall be recognized by our order as Nihimon the Erudite.

Congrats to Nihimon on his second Anniversary. You are certainly an important voice among many and a valuable asset to the forums.
I may not have agreed with you on many issues, and yet can still gain value from what we may have argued over. It reaffirms that everyone, including those in the most heated arguments, care enough about PFO to be here years before release, fighting to make a better game.

Congratulations, Nihimon. It was your posts that gave me sufficient comfort to contribute to the Kickstarter; I've not been a fan of any PVP I've seen in other games so far, but I'm now willing to give PFO its fair chance.
It was even more of your posts that led to my interest in The Seventh Veil. Now I'm a member, and hope to be a valuable contributor here and there in the future, following your successful example.

It is ironic, and probably disturbing to some, that Nihimon and the UnNamed Company share this date in a way as a birth date.
We of the UnNamed Company call it "The Day of Lost Coins" a day when we will not rob, steal or kill anyone.
It is fitting that the day we have set aside to be on our best behavior, is coincidently Nihimon's anniversary date as well.

Disclaimer, this was 100% on accident and not intentional. Perhaps Fate has her hand at this?

<manager> Yes, yes that's all well and good, Nihimon. Have a certificate of appreciation. Now that the celebration is over we need you to extend your hours of service to include weekends.
Oh, and before you return to your cube, your budget next year will have to be reduced 10%. Sequestration, you know. We'll need to see your numbers NLT Friday, c.o.b..
But Thank You for your good work. You really need to work on that morale thing in your spare time.</manager>
C'mon, Nihimon it was a joke. A Joke! Put down the stapler and step away from it. Nihi... SECURITY!!!

Heartily seconded! Thanks Nihimon for your efforts and thoughtful input. Three cheers for Nihimon!
In unrelated news a body was found in a dumpster behind the fan offices of an unreleased game called Pathfinder Online. Investigators are baffled by the number of staple wounds inflicted on the body. Police continue to look for the culprit with the aid of a local community member who goes by the name of 'Nihimon' who, in the words of colleagues, is 'a really nice guy who you can absolutely trust'.

Two years ago today. This is the post I get nostalgic about. I've taken the liberty of highlighting a couple of key statements - one still very true, the other fulfilled beyond my wildest imaginings at the time.
KitNyx wrote:Why would anyone pay for a beta?I can think of a lot of reasons, not least of which is being able to have an impact on the final game. I simply can't express how excited I am about PFO. I've never actually played the TRPG version of it, simply because I've never been lucky enough to have the right social network for it. But I've been a fan of Fantasy RPGs since I was 10 years old (that was 1980, if you're curious) and have been desperately waiting for a true sand-box Fantasy MMO that was willing to try to innovate.
It's wonderful just having the chance to impact the design of the game by posting on these forums, and I sincerely hope that all the regular posters quickly get to recognize my name. And yes, I'm shamelessly trying to better my chances at being invited into that first group of 4,500.
But I also want to do everything I can to make sure PFO is the place I want to spend 20 years playing a character.
So, if Mr. Dancey is reading this, and is wondering if he can get people to actually pay to beta test PFO, please understand the answer is a resounding "YES!" and that's even if the sub is $15/mo, but I'd really like to encourage an eventual low margin/high volume strategy with subs more in the $60-80/year range.

This is so true. When I came to these boards over a year ago I instantly saw Nihimon as an Opinion Leader as well as Erudite. When I thought of joining a company it was The Seventh Veil I was drawn to based on his messages on the boards. I'm not a member yet but plan to be once I can find the time to flesh out my character backstory and properly join. I don't say much but this was definitely worth commenting on! Well done and congrats and thank you Nihimon!

What, you are a haberdasher by trade? Wanting to make a fast buck as his hat size keeps expanding, eh? WE'RE ONTO YOU DAVENTRY! Make no mistake!
I do believe that is the fastest I've been caught red handed in a while. But seriously, he has been one of the few constants within the forums as well as level headed and helpful to a fault.
