Marathon Voter Season 6, Dedicated Voter Season 7

If my item requires a spell from Ulitmate Magic during item creation, do I need to note that in parentheses after the spell name?

Is it: "spell name (book)" or just "spell name"?

I thought I saw the suggestion for book name if different from the core rules, but it might be outdated now.

Thanks!

It doesn't hurt to have (UM) listed after the spell. In their AP's for example, Paizo still lists anything not in the Core Rulebook with a superscript of the book.

If you're that low on wordcount thought I'd work on rewriting :)

Not a word count issue per se, more worried about the best practice for format.

Putting (UM) after the spell name is fine.

But is it necessary? If we don't put the reference in and putting them in would put us over word count, would that get us DQ'ed? I'm not saying I'm that close to word count, but it would be good to know. Thanks,

It can be implied from "is fine" that it is not necessary. Since it is part of the formatting, and to my knowledge no one has ever been disqualified for a formatting error...

Thank you! Good to know.

Well, except they have said that if you leave the name of your item out of your submission body, and your name puts you over word count, you will be disqualified for going over word count. Just wondering if that is the case with these little citations and if having (UM) after something from Ultimate Magic is part of the official template. Is it something we should be doing, or is it just a bonus thing to have.

If those four characters would put you above word count you should probably invest some time in editing the submission anyway.

Putting UM is fine, if not entered, it won't DQ you.

The item name is so much more mandatory, so not putting that in and being at word limit is much more serious as the name Is required at all times.
