I need more Survivability

What is going to be the most survivability for the least gold?

I am looking at regeneration, mirror images, phasing, Armor Class, Damage Reduction, Saves, anything to make me more survivable.

I already have a Ring of Protection +2, a Mithral Breastplate +1, and a cloak of resistance+1.

I am a lvl 9 ranger, so the natural armor necklace wont stack with my barkskin.

I have about 5000-10000 gold.

What fighting style are you using? The answer might be as easy as picking up a shield, or a better one.

2 weapon style, I am a melee DPS, not the party tank. But when I anger the baddies they nearly 1 shot me.

Wand of Shield is your best bet at that cost (+4 shield bonus to AC) but unless you have umd that's out. Potions of shield only cost 50gp a pop but that can get costly if you want it always on. You might want to think about getting improved shield bash and shield slam and go with the sword and board two weapon fighter in the long run if you're getting smashed and want to stay safe, you're only going to get +1 or 2 AC from anything else and it's going to cost you an arm and a leg to get even that.

Ring of Force Shield cost 8500 GP and is activable as a free action, so you can full attack, activate the shield at the end of your round (and then gain +2 AC) and stop it at the beginning of the next turn for free to start another full round attack.

AC is hard, master not getting attacked. A full-attack action in Pathfinder against an equally strong opponent can kill in 1 to 2 rounds normally, and that gets worse as levels go higher. Amulets of Natural Armor are the best AC you'll find right now, or boosting your Dex.

Missile weapon!

(but the options you are considering are much more fun)

meta-analysis:
-AC is best against those that struggle to hit you in the first place
-DR is good against multiple weak attacks (minions) but weak against heavy hitters. Mirror image is opposite.
-concealment (blur/invis) is better than AC against the best opponents, but some monsters are immune.
-Hitpoints help against anything that deals damage. Regeneration only equals hitpoints in very long combats.
-saves are the only thing that helps against many other effects, but does not help vs attacks

= you may actually consider boosting hp and not AC if you are worried about the biggest baddies.

Not being targeted is of course the safest of all. Careful positioning on the board and in the initiative order can lead to super-focused fire where baddies charge the tank, then go down before they get to swing at you.

Liberty's Edge

You can train up your hp since Ultimate Campaign came out...if you get put down in 1 hit...maybe you need more. Also...look at a belt with bonus Con, maybe.

Jingasa of the fortunate soldier for 5,000 ? +1 luck bonus to AC and as immediate action can ignore a sneak attack or crit's extra damage once per day.

Oherwise a ring of foe focus might be decent, though it is not clear if designating a foe for +2 AC and +2 saves is a free action, at least the AC and saves are an unnamed bonus.

The best defense is not being there. Not that I know many ways to do it. The next best defense is kill them first, what you got offensively? Maybe there are a few combat multipliers you can stack on.

The Forums have not failed me this day. There is a lot of good stuff here I hadnt heard of before and concepts to help.

1: The ring of Force Shield: Can I weild this while weilding 2 swords?

2: Jingasa of the fortunate soldier, I think I am going with this, +1 Luck Bonus to AC and the ability to negate 1 crit per day is good stuff. I was looking at dropping 3k to make my +1 breastplat +2. I may do both.

3: Kill it! Kill it quick! I do pretty good damage as is, I have +2 equivilant swords and a belt of giant Str +2. I dont think there are any more cheapish ways to raise my damage output. Please correct me if I am wrong.

According to Table: Actions in Combat, activate a magic item other than a potion or oil is a standard action. The phrase "at will" means you're able to use the ability an unlimited number of times per day.

Don't forget about the classic Ring of Invisibility once you get rich. Consider Acrobatics (and defensive fighting), and check whether your party divine caster can help out with the occasional Prayer and Shield of Faith. Buy him or her a Pearl of Power to help out if you have to.

+2 con item. That china hat of the fortunate soldier. Are also very Nice things to have in the front Line.

That china hat of the fortunate soldier has saved me in both battles I have been in since I got it.
