Offensive Defnsive rogue talent

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade

I know what the answer to this question should be, and, but I'm going to ask it anyway.

If a rogue makes multiple attacks against a target in the same round, either through high enough BAB, Two-weapon Fighting, or a haste spell, does Offensive Defensive proc multiple times? In other words, if I have 2d6 sneak attack, and hit with 2 attacks, do I get +2 AC or +4 AC?

Sczarni

You benefit from it only once per round.

Offensive Defense** (Ex): When a rogue with this talent hits a creature with a melee attack that deals sneak attack damage, the rogue gains a +1 dodge bonus to AC for each sneak attack die rolled for 1 round.

Well, the way it reads if you play super RAW I guess it will stack. However, that's stupid and it should only apply once.

Grand Lodge

Only once per round.

Silver Crusade

I figured it was only once per round, and that's how I would have ruled it, but I wanted to confirm.

If a player in my game shows up with a rogue that is OP i May be chance it but atm i let all the sneek dices of a round stack for this talent. I like the idea of one having to break the flow.
But if you have problems with rogue hitting several times pr round with sneek attack. Then pehaps this talent need a nerf:)

For reference. Its in the FAQs.

Rogue: Does the dodge bonus from the “offensive defensive” rogue talent (page 131) stack with itself? Does it apply to everyone, or just to the target I’m attacking?

There are two issues relating to this rogue talent.

One, in the first printing it provided a +1 circumstance bonus against the attacked target, which was a very weak ability. The second printing update changed it from a circumstance bonus to a dodge bonus, but accidentally omitted the “against that creature” text, which made it a very strong ability.

Two, it doesn’t specify whether the dodge bonus stacks with itself, and because this creates a strange place in the rules where bonuses don’t stack from the same source but dodge bonuses always stack. While we haven’t reached a final decision on what to do about this talent, we are leaning toward this solution: the dodge bonus only applies against the creature you sneak attacked, and the dodge bonus does not stack with itself. This prevents you from getting a dodge bonus to AC against a strong creature by sneak attacking a weak creature, and prevents you from reaching an absurdly high AC by sneak attacking multiple times in the same round.

Meh. Now it's back to just as weak as before. Changing it from a circumstance bonus to a dodge bonus has no appreciable effect.

Well i ditent see that FAQ. I will expan my house rules then:)

Sovereign Court

We are actually having this discussion in my game club.

MrSin - I have seen that faq and while it does indicate that there has been discussion on the topic (over a 1 1/2 years), there is not any official ruling or FAQ.

As the rule stands now, you get multiple stacking benefits. This has big implications in Pathfinder Society Play. There are no "House Rules" and must follow RAW.

I do believe an Official FAQ needs to come out.

Our club does play that the dodge bonus is already against the enemy hit by the attack.
