Playtest and Archetypes

Advanced Class Guide Playtest General Discussion

Grand Lodge

Hi all! I'm pretty sure I have read it somewhere but after 15 minutes of searching the messageboards, I have given up!

Are you allowed to use a current archetype on a playtest class? What I am looking for is the "drunken bloodrager", i.e. a bloodrager with the drunken brute archetype (replacing fast movement for drunken rage). I vaguely remember SKR saying not to but I am wondering if it's official or just a suggestion...

Thanks!

Because of the nature of the Advanced classes, I would wait personally.
The ninja/gunslinger/samurai were all advanced classes of other core classes, but their abilities varied so greatly that they are, in their own right, a separate class.

Not only that, but now we are mixing two classes together and adding abilities. RAW as long as your parent class belongs to that archetype and you have the abilities that the archetype substitutes I guess you COULD...but It would be cheesing quite a bit.

Paizo has stated that they will have archetypes for these advanced classes either in the next round of the playtesting or in the final product.

TLDR; Wait for the archetypes to come out for those specific classes.
