Is there ever going to be an Elves of Golarion book?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I know there has been a book for all the races. But has anyone heard anything about the elves getting there own book?

You mean like this?

Well I feel dumb now haha. Let me rephrase that is there any news of an elf book coming out for the pathfinder rules?

The race books have such as the one above have been hit or miss... I found the dwarf book to be disappointing, retreading a lot of the old fantasy tropes... The elves are cool because they are not native to Golarion, Alien elves with Star Gates are very interesting, the Gnome bleaching thing also cool. Dwarves = Scottish Vikings as per usual.... Paizo have so much scope to do proper Viking and Egyptian style dwarves based on their Scandinavian and Egypt analogs...

James Jacobs doesn't like dwarves, sadly enough.

They were the first race to get their own book. This was back in the days of 3.5 but the info there is still relevant. The Prestige class included in the book was updated to Pathfinder specs in Paths of Prestige. The book is out of print, I think but you can still order the PDF.

A campaign setting book for Kyonin or the Five Kings Mountains would be nice.

I thought I saw a post from James (or maybe Vic) a year or two ago, indicating Elves was not on the short list for updating.

And I thought Dwarves of Golarion was cool. Even though James is an admitted anti-dwarfite.

Honestly would love for Elves, Dwarves, and Orcs of Golarion to get do-overs, for flavor reasons more than rules updates.

The major problem is that unless the book was entirely new content, it probably wouldn't sell that well.

I have to admit that entirely new content is exactly what I'd be hoping for in the cases of Dwarves and especially Orcs.

I am hoping that at some point we might get a "Races of Golarion" that compiles all the race books and updates those to Pathfinder that need updating. Fix some of the complaints about certains books (Orcs and Blood of the Night come to mind). Include some new golarion specific archetypes and prestige classes and you are good to go.

Something like what we are seeing with Inner Sea Gods. Although, IIRC, we still have a few races left to cover however before that might become feasible.

Good idea.

It might be better for those other races to simply hold off giving them their own books, and put them all straight into that single "races" hardcover to ensure there's a good amount of brand new material in it.

Otherwise you risk being unable to sell the compilation book because not everyone is willing to buy it just for the 3.5 to PF updates.
