Improved Whip Mastery allows you to threaten 5 ft beyond your normal reach (a small or medium creature threatens 10 ft away).
Adding throwing to a melee. weapon inreases its range by 10 ft.
If someone added throwing to a whip, could thet threaten 20 ft with IWM? Their normal reach hasn't changed but their weapon's normal range has.
Alternately, what about wearing a glove, gauntlet or cestus that has been made a throwing weapon and wielding the whip in that hand? Now their reach with that had is 15 ft. Would IWM allow them to threaten 20 ft?

No, because you would be throwing weapon as if it was ranged (not reach). Unfortunately, reach doesn't have much to do with range :(
No throwing a gauntlet or whatever to get longer reach with a whip will not gray longer reach, as range is not effected by the reach. Also, the throwing ability allows you throw the weapon to deal damage at range, it does not allow you to throw a weapon that "wields" another weapon, and strikes with that weapon, even if it has reach.
In order to do want your saying, the gauntlet or whip would have to be an animated object (through the use of other forms of magic).

You are confusing two different game terms. Range and Reach.
Range is the distance you can make a Ranged attack in, expressed as an increment. Thrown weapons have 5 increments, projectile weapons have 10 increments.
Reach is the distance you can make a melee attack in, expressed as the whole value. So there are no increments to Reach.
You can't add Range and Reach, they apply in different situations.
