Shield Slam vs Stand Still

Rules Questions

So I'm wanting to run a ruling by you guys, level 10 fighter with Two Weapon Fighting, Improved Shield Bash, Shield Slam, Improved & Greater Bull Rush, and Combat Reflexes. Mook provokes AoO from said fighter, can he Shield Slam said mook? He should be able to attack with his shield, which is a shield slam attack, get a free bull rush "substituting your attack roll for the combat maneuver check"

This seems better than Stand Still, more feats required, but those feats apply to more than just the actions that Stand Still does.

Yes, why not? You should allow his character to do exactly what his feat says he can do. Shield slam states, in part, "Any opponents hit by your shield bash are also hit with a free bull rush attack..."

A shield bash can be performed as an attack of oppurtunity. So, assuming that he hits with his shield bash and has chose to use the shield slam feat, he also proceeds with a bull rush.

It should not matter whether shield slam is better or worse than stand still when you are trying to determine how shield slam works.

By the way, Stand Still stops them in their tracks so they can not continue their movement, shield slam does not.

Whats your question here? I don't see one.

Stand Still does what it says. If an enemy moves through an adjacent square you threaten you can make a combat maneuver check to make him unable to move further.

If an enemy provokes an AoO for any multitude of reasons you can make a shield slam attack with a free bullrush attempt if you have Shield Slam.

Also, keep in mind that even if you manage to bullrush said monk out of your threatened space, if he moves through it again you do *not* get another AoO, even if you have Combat Reflexes.

"Moving out of more than one square threatened by the same opponent in the same round doesn't count as more than one opportunity for that opponent."
