Congratulations to Andi Brandt who ran her 100th table tonight so she now has her 4th star!
She's our local store coordinator, our area VO, and runs the bestest conventions and games ever! (Of course, I may be a little biased, as she is also my better half... ;)
*lol* You are sly and crafty and definitely biased. Thank you! You were supposed to be sleeping.
And thanks for all the congratulations, everyone. I can honestly say I still get so much more out of it than I put in.
:) I'll see what I can do about a story, Chris. Though Alex is so wrong. With a 100, it just gets harder to choose.

Thanks Pirate Rob and Stargypsyd!
Oh, I am definitely watching you, Kyshkumen. If I'm not careful, you'll pass me by in no time (and I'll cheer you on all the way!).
ok, I think I have a story for Chris now:
I admit it; I had asked for a table of kids. I love running for them, but maybe I should have worried when Painlord started chuckling maniacally and rubbing his hands together. It ended up being a 7 person table, 5 adolescent boys, and two brave souls that were not connected to any of the 10-12 years olds I have at the table. One of the boys is loud and obviously in charge. One of the boys is “the quiet one”, the one they’re putting up with and picking on a little bit. They want me to tell “the quiet one” to go away. All of us are in one of the small noisy rooms upstairs at Kublacon, with 2 other enthusiastic tables. It was LOUD.
I sat him anyway.
It could have been ugly. Kids that age can be mean to each other, and don’t always listen, especially out of sight of their parents at something as hectic as a con. I did kind of wonder if I’d bitten off more than I could chew.
What did I do?
I hear slightly better on one side than the other. Because of that, I also know that I favor one side of the table a little bit more with attention. I try not to do it, but every once in a while I still catch myself. Still, it can work to my advantage and did in this particular instance. I put the quiet boy directly next to me on my good side, the more assertive boy directly next to me on my bad side, and put the followers nearer the quiet kid, with the adults near the loud one. I don’t remember anyone quibbling over my requests that night, and honestly, don’t run into it much. Sometimes, I think I’m lucky, but others I think it’s just that I ask reasonably, with a smile, and an expectation that they too want to have a good time and realize this will make it more likely.
How did it turn out?
Even with the changes, the table was still LOUD, I still had a headache when it was over, and I would still run it again in a heartbeat. The quiet boy ended up being the one that got to play with the nifty fun thing, due to the other boys’ emphatic insistence that he be the sacrificial lamb to pick up the ominous looking whatsit. All the kids had fun, the adults seem to have a good time too (they both still smile when I run into them at cons, at any rate).
That was game 7. I still try to put the easier to hear people on one side, and the harder to hear people on my good side. If there are obvious bullying situations, I still split them up. And I will still run for kids any day of the week.
That’s my story. I hope it was the sort you had in mind.

Congratulations Andi!!!!!
Having benefitted from both your GM expertise and your con organizing skills I am so happy to hang around in your area (well sort of). You might not have been with us physically at Pacificon but most of the con knowledge I was relying on was stolen from you.
So, congrats and thanks, see you in February if not before.

Oh hey, I know that 4-Star GM! I know she is probably relieved to arrive at the "4-Star Resting Plateau" after seeing all her insane friends get up to 4-Star Plateau and beyond to the 5-Star Mountain Top. (Myself included.)
I would just post Congrats and leave it at that, but I get to see you on Sunday and so I'll just add some more delicious baked goods to the gifts pile for you on celebrating your 4th Star!
Cheers to one of the best ladies in all of the Pathfinder Society!

Well as always I am late to the party.
Must have been doing something but for the life of me I can't quite remember what it was.
Congradulations Andi. Thank you for being an inspiration for me. Thank you for being such a great coordinator. Thank you for being an awesome teacher.
Thank you for being my friend.
Now get to it.
