This is basically advice for the following for a tengu fighter:
-gear (including weapons and armor)
-feats
-skill ranks (aka where to put skill ranks in where)
I already have a theme for him; he's like Inuyasha-solitary, quiet, and a bit short-tempered.
What fighting style are you planning for? Dex-based 2-weapon fighting? Big freakin' sword? Sword-and-shield? Do you want to be tripping? Sundering?
I was thinking more of the Dex-based 2-weapon fighting.
You should go with the Nitojutsu Sensei archetype and go Str-based if you're gonna TWF.

Neo2151: I'm looking at it and it looks like a good idea. Thanks!
In case you want to stay PF only, you can go Strength based TWF with Ranger (and then just take a few levels in an eastern-themed class for your samurai fix).
I think the fighter archetype for 2 weapons isn´t half bad, and I noticed that there is a specialized tengu fighter archetzpe at d20pfsrd.com from Rite Publishing.
Still, I think ranger or even bard (with the dervish archetype) can also work quite well.
Hmm...I feel like that maybe he should start off with the Nitojutsu Sensai archtype, then get some levels in with TWF Ranger. I mean that's just my thought.
Quick question: Is this PFS?
Wouldnt Inuyasha be more monk then fighter? He uses weapons sure, but his style and methods strike me as closer to the semi mystical unarmored style of a monk using blades, then the mundane nature of the fighter.
Chris Kenney: Pathfinder Society? No I don't believe so.
Kolokotroni: *sheepish chuckle* well I've only seen like half a dozen episodes of the show, and that was years ago, so my memory of his fighting style's a little fuzzy. But I always viewed him as like an agile Fighter or Ranger, not a Monk.
Frankly, some of the stuff later is more Exalted than Pathfinder, but there you go.
I´d actually go for psychic warrior for him, but if psionics is not allowed, fighter or barbarian would likely do quite well. He can definitely work as a beast totem barb imo, maybe with the savage archetype since he isn´t much for armor.
I think Inu Yasha would be some form of mystical fighter, probably some version of Tiefling, so probably some kind of Magus (if only they didn't need a spellbook...).

Fair enough, if thats your concept go with it.

What is it you would want to get out of the ranger that you arent already getting out of fighter. I am not familiar with the archetype chosen, but in general you want to multiclass as little as possible in pathfinder since every class has level based abilities that dont scale when you multiclass.
Loneknave - do check the psychic warrior - they don´t need a free hand either :) . Some of the paths - ascetic, feral warrior, or weapon master - can work quite well for him (though some of the skill bonuses don´t fit).
With the Two-Weapon warrior Fighter archetype you will eventually be able to wield two Katanas with light weapon penalties. What more could you possibly want? ;)
I cannot think of a Dex two weapon fighting build that could be better than a Str one, unless you go unarmed so that you can take advantage of Snake and Crane styles.
Yeah, but Two-Weapon warriors don't get to ignore the ridiculously high Dex requirements for the TWF line.

Since this is a tengu, it would be fairly easy to start with a minimum DEX before the point costs start to ramp up. Here is an example a decent set of scores (with racial modifiers added):
STR: 17 DEX: 16 CON: 13 INT: 10 WIS: 11 CHA: 7
With this, you would only need to add your 4th level ability score increase to dex and you can get Improved TWF and Two Weapon Rend without any problems. Greater TWF is a bit overrated (although a fighter might be a class most likely to get that BAB-10 hit off somewhat regularly), and it can be put off until much, much later.
not to mention since the stat belts are permanent (provided they aren't disenchanted or you use a different belt), you could grab a dex (or str/dex, or str/con/dex) belt and meet the prereqs earlier than stat mods.
you could also reach GTWF by level 12 with just the stat bonuses to dex and 16 base dex (concentrating your belts on STR and str/con in this case).
Okay...I did not expect this many people to suggest so many suggestions. I feel like I wanna do the Samurai Archetype cause well it would fit his theme (I'm making it to where he is originally from Tian Xia), then again a Ranger or a TWF...man I can't decide!
