Grippli PC in Kingmaker

Advice

I'm playing Kingmaker and planning a back-up character (we tend to die a lot with this DM). I've always wanted to play a Grippli, but I couldn't find a good game to play one in. Is Kingmaker a good campaign to use a Grippli? And, if so, what build would you recommend?

I've been considering a druid (wasp companion) or a cleric (frog/feather domains).

Some princes start out as frogs, go for it

I've made a few grippli characters. Perhaps Magora Coldheart and Thelyn Cabor will serve to inspire you?

Don't knock it, in the Kingmaker campaign I'm in, there's a barbarian princess, probably from some amazonian tribe, as she keeps insulting and belittle every male, though mostly the group.

Whether or not the Gippli is an appropriate race mostly depends on your GM TBH.

(that trait was once female only)

I was playing a Grippli in the Rise of the Runelord and I was going druid for a while. It is pretty fun. I would go for something different if I were to play my frog again. I would make him more like Frog from Chrono Trigger. I would go fighter and rock a breast plate/great sword! Just go in there dodge and kick baddies...

Yes. Please. You fight Trolls. We like frog legs.

I'm actually considering using the same art that you used for Thelyn for my character. Where did you find that image?

Frog from CT is actually one of the reasons I've always wanted to play a Grippli, but I'm working with a very different concept (former protector of his/her tribe, boggards wiped them out, now travels and aids others because of his/her guilt).

Liberty's Edge

I have a grippli archer-ranger in my Kingmaker campaign. She is... quite effective.

It's actually cropped from a larger image. You can still see the second staff and robe/shoulder of a second spellcaster.

I pulled it from DeviantArt, where I find most of my art.

I'll see if I can track down the full image for you.

EDIT: Came across these other grippli images, you may find useful.

EDIT: Found it. It was painted by Masateru.

Where's your Masamune?

I'm actually considering a ranger or zen archer as well. For this campaign, it really depends on how I roll. My GM has us using a very unpredictable rolling system, so most of us haven't been able to play what we want (without being horribly gimped).

Thanks! I actually use DeviantArt for most of my characters as well, and now I can add one more to my Grippli dropbox folder.

I'm sure he can name his scimitar Masamune.
