What's in a name?

I'm trying to name my new male Battle Cleric of Szuriel, any advice would be appreciated.

I'm thinking something like Strife or Discord but can't come up with any surnames that would fit with those.

I named my Aasimar "Angelica". Seemed a fitting name for a half-celestial.
I named my Wayang "Baku", which translates as "nightmare" in (Japanese? I can't remember now).
I named my Tengu "Kal-Yik", which sounded similar to Tengu names in the ARG.
I named my Tiefling "Malvos", which given the negative connotation that the sound "Mal" has seemed appropriate.
I named my Nagaji "Sithis", which compliments the hissing voice I use for him.
I named my Fey Foundling Oracle "Faan", which means "white" in Elven, and describes his white hair and clouded eyes.
Still working on a name for my Dhampir Thassilonian Necromancer Cruoromancer Bloatmage, which I plan to roleplay based on a combination of Hedonist Bot from Futurama and Baron Harkonnen from Dune.

Miloslav = "favored glory" (slavic origin) - might be appropriate for a Battle Cleric. Did you choose Glory as one of your domains? I'm not familiar with Szuriel, so I'm not sure if this domain would be appropriate for your chosen deity.

after having two kids in less then ten years i use a baby name book then tweak the name to make it more fantasy-ish. tho the name of my favorite character i got from the head coach of the chicago bulls (also never been a bulls fan, long live the Seattle SuperSonics, not to be confused with the team in OKC that shall not be named:)

I named a Stonelord Paladin "Rocky Balboulder". I'm childishly proud of that name. I should have made him use unarmed strikes too. lol.

It's best if the result gets punny. Wouldn't want to think ourselves too "edgy" or the like.

Szuriel is the Horseman of War. Her domains are Evil, Fire, Strength, and War.

The character is Human, and is a citizen of Cheliax, though he may have come from somewhere else.

Currently I have his last name down as 'Strife'

For instance, a character named "Red Beck" might have fought in a war during his early adulthood. Enemy stormed his squad's base, only he made it out alive. When he was found, he was covered in blood, hence the name.

That is a great approach to naming, more like a nickname that stuck, in today's culture.

a name i used for an elven huntress raised by a tribe of human hunter gatherers in a southern jungle. Bleeding Rain. it references the concept of making the rain bleed, or in other words, the massive amount of blood that shall rain from the results of your slaughter.
