There are several item options. Wings of flying or a cloak of the bat, a flying carpet that produces a cloud-like effect around itself... Sadly, the closest parallel to the "mega-high-speed flying monkey cloud" is a high-level cleric spell not normally found on the wizard list.
Make sure your wizard player knows the requirements - and drawbacks - of taking a level in Monk. For example, it's a Wisdom-oriented class (as well as drawing on all three physical stats to varying degrees), so unless he has unusual stats for a wizard, he's not going to be a very effective monk. Don't get me wrong - he gets big saving throw bonuses and access to lots of new class skills, among other perks - but he might find the multiclass doesn't live up to his expectations.
If you are just now opening up all Pathfinder options after a period of using only the Beginner's Box, you may want to consider offering him a chance to rebuild his character from the ground up: turning him from a Wizard into a Sorceror would allow him to select from the bloodlines, some of which have powers that might more closely represent the sort of character he wants.
