Paladin / Monk Prestige Classes

Advice

Are there any third party Paladin/Monk Prestige Classes for Pathfinder?

I'm doing a divine hunter/zen archer build and the only Paladin/Monk prestige class in PF is the Champion of Irori prestige class, and it requires Still Mind, which Zen Archer's lose.

Not of that combination, that I can recall. There are a few that might fit, depending on your theme in Heroes of the East by Little Red Goblin games (if I recall my recent purchase).

What type of "theme" are you going for? What are you wanting out of the PrC of such?
How quick would you need it?

We might be able to create something for you.

Honestly,
Anything that builds off the monk (either ac or flurry or both) and the Paladin (lay on hands, smite evil) would work. Not sure if it's worth a special build. :) The GM is relatively open to 3rd party as long as I have a published book to show her.

I'll check Heroes of the East out. Thanks!

On a separate note, I think that might be a niche if you're looking for a new project. A small (10 - 15) page supplement that had nothing but themed archetypes for Paladin/Monk might sell well. The two classes have a history of being tantalizing to use together but don't fit well (think Ascetic Knight feats from 3.5).

Liberty's Edge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I can't think of any off the top of my head.

SGG has the feats of multiclassing book, which helps fake multiclassing (ie. gaining limited class abilities from another class, like amateur gunslinger or eldritch heritage). It won't help you if you've already multiclassed though. (They require you not to be the class you're taking the feat from.)

Ascetic Knight (from complete adventurer, 3.5 rather than pathfinder) makes your monk and paladin levels stack for smite evil and unarmed damage if that helps.

Also, there's a multi-class archetype here that is a combination of the two classes, but not a prestige class.

And that's all I can find / think of. Sorry man.

No problem, thanks man. Yeah, needs to be a published product, not homebrew. :) Looked at Little Red Goblin, but the 3 books didn't seem to have anything for monk/paladin based on the blurbs.

Have you talked with the GM to see if you can "wave" the still mind, or is it pretty ironclad, as rules say?

It's probably going to be fairly iron clad at this point. Not that she's not reasonable, it's that she's using a module for the first time (Jade Regent) and her job is a -8 on a scale of 1 to 10 right now, so she's mostly just too tired to deal with anything overly questionable. I might talk to her about it anyway, just to see.

Liberty's Edge

3rd party stuff can easily be less balanced than a homebrew, and champion of irori is so MAD there's not really any way to break it (especially since is best at melee). I'd just propose taking 3 levels of monk and be golden.

Yeah, the only thing I really like from the CoI is that it continues both AC and Smite abilities. Oh well. I may just do 3 levels of Zen Archer and then go back to Paladin. It'll be worth it for all the archery bonuses Zen gets (possibly 4th to get the ki pool).

Brother of the Seal. It's certainly more for a monk bent on destroying powerful runes and seals, and really seriously breaking stuff with his fists(damage boost included!) :D

Sorry, but that's a Monk/Rogue prestige class, not a Monk/Paladin. I'm looking for a prestige class that boosts both classes simultaneously.

Thanks though.
