are muleback cords and a cloak legal?

Rules Questions

basically the subject heading. i had a pfs gm state that one could wear muleback cords as well as a cloak of resistance tonight. muleback cords were new to me and my 10 strength character, so i came home and looked them up, but they're in the shoulders section of ue, as are cloaks, so i assumed that meant one could not wear them at the same time.
any insight would be greatly appreciated.

You are correct. They both occupy the same slot so only one of them can be active in that slot.
You CAN wear them both but they stop working as soon as you put the second one on over the first.

In PFS, no. In non-PFS, yes, by combining them into one item. (See CRB p553 "Adding New Abilities".)

thanks for the clarification, even though it makes me sad.

I suggest a potion, scroll, or wand of Ant Haul. Same basic effect.

Ah, but IIRC, the two effects would stack.

For cases when you absolutely, positively, have to loot everything...

My 32 str Dragon Disciple loves that these two things stack - effective 40 strength for carrying purposes times 3. He can carry 6,400 lbs as a light load. =)
