Can you dispel "smite Evil" ?

Rules Questions

I was wondering if my BBEG could dispel the smite of my paly pc?

What do you think?

No.
Smite Evil is a supernatural effect, dispel magic only works versus spells and spell-like abilities and items.

Scarab Sages

No but there is an armor special quality that lets you dismiss a challenge or smite vs the wearer 1/day.

To my knowledge, that is the only way short of running away successfully or killing the smiter.

Even running away successfully doesn't work unless the Pally uses his Smite on someone else, since it lasts until the target is dead.

And even then he get s a few per day and can do it as a Swift. If a Pally wants you dead, he's gonna get ya.

Antimagic field will surpress Smite since it's supernatural.

Selecting a new smite target doesn't cancel the old one. only death of the target or when the paladin rests (death would probably do it too).
