Possible update to my submission: Looking through the flaws, I'd love to have my character take the "The Game" flaw. I know it's not intended to be a real thing for a serious game, but then again, I don't think this is intended to be a serious game. And I think it'd be great fun to have the bodyguard possibly turn around with a flabbergasted look on his face, then scream to the heavens, "I LOST THE GAME!"

Guy on a Buffalo Youtube clip, yeah he’s got his own show
And of course the theme song (not 100% safe for work...)
“David the 10th wonder of the world”
Shunned from his nomadic tribe after losing a fight to a buffalo (who then followed him and became his loyal (and only friend) he wandered confused and afraid. Into long grasslands he roamed on his buffalo looking for somewhere to go somewhere to belong. He found it with a strange old Hermit who taught him the secrets of Alchemy. Of course the old man called him stupid and ugly one too many times, and he flew into his barbarian rage and was thrown from the hut forcibly! That old man really could pack a mean punch!
Years went by, he voraciously looked for the alchemical secrets this world held, he quested with adventurers who prized him for his raw strength and his very clever buffalo, he even managed to save the world a time or two, but he still couldn’t find a potion to make him a “man” and by that we mean to say he’s never had a date...
So now we find him at the academy, looking for the secrets to being a man, for all the other tricks to manhood he has long since mastered!

Bognus 'Bluebeard' Dolgrin |

Oooooo...kay...this sounds like it's going to be madness. I must join.
While he'll need some serious updating to make 20th level and the other bits 'round here, I hereby dot with my submission - Bognus 'Bluebeard' Dolgrin, retired dwarven clan leader and current reigning champion of the clan's drinking contests. His nickname comes from the obvious; due to some white dragon ancestry somewhere back in the family tree, there are streaks of blue running though his hair and beard.
A while back, Bognus decided it was time to step down as champion of the Dolgrin dwarves. It wasn't that he thought any of his descendants could take him (they couldn't), he was just bored. The Dolgrin hadn't been challenged in more than a century, and frankly, if he didn't get some adventures under his belt soon, he was worried he might start losing his edge. Again.
A while further back than that, Bognus had started to feel the effects of his age. He didn't hit quite as hard as he used to, and every so often, something actually managed to slip out of his once-adamantine grip. On his last planned attack (there was a wizard getting uppity on their border), however, a strange set of circumstances wound up with his soul bound to a powerful demon instead of the wizard's; not that anyone told ol' Bluebeard. He promptly slew the wizard, of course, and when he left the tower, he found that his natural strength was not only restored, it was even greater than before! ...but only when he concentrated. Weird.

Monkeygod |

I saw this thread awhile ago, butit was a little long and I just never got around to catchin up ...
Till now that is and I have spectacular idea:
I wanna make the Ice King from Adventure Time!!
Will definitey take Winter Witch(both the archetype and PrC), and will have a penguin familair named Gunter.
I assume the rule for PrC is it can be added on to either half of the gestalt? That's how I've always done it.

Kommandar Killjoy |

I think as long as you don't have side X boosting side Y you should be ok (and remember that one side would have to be single class and have all your FCB). So if you had witch 20/prestige witch your caster level and such would remain at 20.
Hey Bluebeard! I came from the exact same campaign and used the same character, just boosted, just like you ;) great minds think alike?
Lantzkav, might I recomend the vest of stable mutation? It gets rid of that annoying hit to your mental stats when you mutate (aka all the time). Also, check out my asterion, Tauros. He has 60 str, 32 dex and 42 con :) imigine if I added on Barbarian to that XD

Kommandar Killjoy |

So I had this crazy (and probably stupid) idea.
A human (or better yet, a custom race with both the static and bonus feat) unbreakable fighter 20/monk 18, gendarme (cavalier) 2 with the quadriplegic flaw. He would have 40 feats! How you would play such a character I have no idea, but he would have lots of feats! (And no real ones :P)

Kommandar Killjoy |

?
Sorry, I didn't mean to be confrontational, its just that this is a gestalt campaign. That means you get 2 classes at each level so you can be paladin 20 but you also get 20 levels in another class on top of that. So say 20 levels of paladin and 20 levels of fighter while still remaining a 20th level character.

Loup Blanc |

Alright, if there's time, I'm thinking I'm going to do the ultimate sneak/assassin/spy/trapsmith as my preferred submission. Looking at ninja as the main class, with bits of sorcerer/arcane trickster/assassin/master spy on the side.
GM, could I grab the Assassin PrC without the evil prerequisite? They seem much more neutral to me, especially now without the blatantly evil spells from 3.5.

Mr. Ziggles |

Ya I am thinking of changing my submission as well :P With so much choice at the high levels its real hard to decide on these things!
This here is a hobgoblin Fell Rider/Scarred Barbarian, Thug, Mammoth Rider :) The scariest scardycat around :)
@Da GM. No problem :D Its all fine :)
BTW this is Kommandar Killjoy here :)
Edit: I was thinking about going paladin/cavalier for the smite, challenge combo :)
"You there fiend! Eat +60 damage!" With 9 attacks of course :)
But I like my barbarian half, focus a lot more on my mount and just overrun everything XD

DM-DR |

Yeah, similar abilities do not stack between the x/y is generally that way I understood it. It is the same as having the BAB from one side as well as the BAB from the other side. You could have +40 BAB at 20th level if that were the case. The assumption is usually, you take the best bonus from each side that gives a bonus or feature (just like most non-dodge bonuses in a regular game).

Loup Blanc |

I understand that--I was just looking at it as gestalt being similar to multiclassing with regard to class abilities, so it seemed that if something specifically states that it stacks with other sources, it would even in gestalt. Especially in a game like this :)
Not trying to argue or start a major discussion, just stating where I'm coming from on here. I'll wait for the GM to state definitively how it'll work.

![]() |

for the Lulz!
(as an aside killjoy, your beast you made a) has advanced template, b) is using two neck slot items, c) is lvl 24?, d) using too many rings (I realize you probably slip em on as needed though), e) wearing too many head slot items, and is using giant sizing? there's alot of cheese even beyond what you'd get from gestalt...)

The Hirtz Factor |

I've reconsidered my options and I am currently trying to decide whether I would like to play a Magus (Kensai, maybe Bladebound) / Rogue (Rake) who takes great pleasure in telling everyone just how much better he is in comparison to them or a Wizard (Conjuration Specialist) / Alchemist (Mindchemist / Vivisectionist) who has found the secret to immortal life and has spent much of his long life creating various magical items and demi-planes.

This webpage on Gestalting might help you understand the rules a bit better. Just remember that our DM has chosen to add in the additional requirement that you must have one side consisting entirely of one class. This is to be the side that you gain your favored class bonus from.

The Hirtz Factor |

Ancient Tian secret.
The Alchemist Wizard on the other hand could only make 24 a round, but he does have the capabilities to have an entourage of 6 Succubi to do his bidding at all times, an imp familiar to manage his ledgers, a few big bad outsiders on speed dial, eternal youth, contingencies for death, a bard to handle his business dealings, a plane of his own, and the ability to amass near limitless amounts of wealth.

Loup Blanc |

I'm not going rogue/ninja. Ninja was my main class, so 10d6 from that... normally. Another 2d6 from Arcane Trickster, 4d6 from Assassin, and 1d6 from Master Spy. The only one I'm not totally sure on is that by taking a level of Vivisectionist Alchemist, I may be getting an extra d6 due to the fact that it adds to rogue to figure out sneak attack by level, and sneak attack doesn't actually say that it has an upper limit. So it'd be like having 21 levels of rogue, gaining another 1d6 sneak attack. Grand total of 17d6, or 18d6 if the vivisectionist trick works.

The Hirtz Factor |

@Loup Blanc - Please refer to this post and the link within it. It gives a good breakdown of the normal rules that are applied when using gestalt.

Loup Blanc |

@the above: I'm not finished with stats yet, and the ones in the profile are not at all what I'm using for the character, sorry. As for the class layout, it's Ninja(burglar)20/Alchemist(vivisectionist)1/ArcaneTrickster5/Assassin8/Mast erSpy3/Ranger(guide)2/Sorcerer(seeker)1. A lot of multiclassing, but it gets me the abilities I like for the fluff I want. And that's what's important.
@The Hirtz Factor: I believe that this line is what you're mainly stating.
Class features that two classes share (such as uncanny dodge) accrue at the rate of the faster class.
But I'm not sure how that works with prestige classes that specifically say their sneak attack adds to another source. A GM will need to give their specific ruling on it because it's a little unclear.
