10 minute background:

Six things to know about El'la Scaldrein
1. El'la comes from a life of heartache and betrayal. Both her family and her trainers have turned against her. Strangely, instead of losing her temper, she is focusing on the cool burn of revenge, and plotting meticulously for the perfect moment to release her fury.
2. She killed someone accidentally with fire at a very young age, and has since then learned to enjoy the act of destruction.
3. She is as much a mystic as she is a spellcaster. She believes that focusing on her own mental abilities strengthens her power over fire, and seeks to control the elements through arcane manipulation and spells.
4. Once killed by her own brother and father, El'la was resurrected by a priest of Asmodeus. As part of the payment for this debt, she agreed to pay the final price if it was ever requested of her.
5. She is a beautiful vision of fire and ice, whose revealing clothing has raised more than a few eyebrows, and can cause quite a stir in several social situations.
6. She attempted to burn the Cathedral to Mithra in a ritual of magical and mundane fires. Mentally superior to her captors in many ways, it was only through arcane suppression and knocking her unconscious that they were able to bring her into custody.

Five mannerisms about El'la Scaldrein
1. Like most ifrits, El'la is imperious and demanding; unlike most ifrits, El'la is slow to anger.
2. If she does become angry with a person, that person is more likely to feel it scorching his skin before he realizes she's even marginally upset.
3. She wears fairly revealing red and gold clothing and jewelry, and is attracted to rubies and fire opals.
4. El'la goes by the name Cinders for those who do not speak Ignan. It is better to call her by the common name than mispronounce her Ignan name.
5. El'la sparkles with flaming cinders when she becomes intimidating or angry, causing small particles of dust in the air around her to catch on fire.

Four goals El'la Scaldrein has
1. After her escape from Branderscar Prison, El'la swore revenge against the two former allies that put her there. She plans to find them and roast them slowly over an open fire.
2. El'la continues to focus on her own mental abilities, using meditations and psychic abilities to access control over fire.
3. She wants to see the empire burn, and hopes to find others who share this desire. Especially since the faith of Asmodeus is forced underground.
4. Short Term: Find a safe place to hide from the authorities, and a way to get past Branderscar's reach.

Three People tied to El'la Scaldrein (1 Friend, 2 Enemies)
1. An unnamed priest of Asmodeus. Although he resurrected her from a dark fate, he explained that there may yet be a darker fate waiting for her. With the other teachings of Asmodeus, Cinders learned to appreciate the darkness and the fire of the Prince of Fiends. The priest remained nameless throughout their friendship. He is known to her only as Father.
2. A mystic wanderer, Darius Valantia, was her original guide for developing her psychic abilities, using strange meditations and techniques that the Empire knew little of.
3. A powerful fire elemental wizard of the Empire, Gregor Barles, was her original trainer of fire elemental magic. He taught her to embrace the flame, rather than fear it, although she had little reason to fear the flame due to her natural ties to it.

Two Secrets, one Known, one Unknown
1. Having faced betrayal much of her life, Cinders has a yearning to be loved and accepted. She pretends to be a cool combination of fire and ice, and in some ways seeks to control those desires through her mental training.
2. Darius Valantia is a rakshasha in disguise. Why he began to train El'la in exotic psychic abilities is a mystery that remains to be solved.

One major memory or life experience.
"Yes, Father." El'la said, looking over the book with the red pages and the black binding. "But, what can I do for Asmodeus? I am no great power." She was only a child then, young and still developing, but her fire had already burst out. Her brother knew now. And her father would soon enough.

The man in the black hooded robe closed the book gently in her hands. "You, child, are like many who do not feel like they are great. But greatness can come. With time, with help, with training, with the conjunction of others who have had these gifts given to them. Asmodeus uses all who voluntarily come to him. When I brought you back to life, and gave you the healing power of devil's blood, I knew you would someday understand this. It was no small gift. Your life is immensely valuable, but only if you continue to develop it in accordance with the Dark One's desires. I will guide you in this, as will the book you hold in your hands, when I am unable to." The man seemed genuinely kind to El'la, but there was an underlying harshness to him that put her on edge in an exciting way. Lord Asmodeus, he called his god, was benevolent to those who worshiped him with honesty, rewarding faith and humility as much as Mithra did, if not more. It was the Church of Mithra who had been so ignoble as to repudiate the religion of an equal power. The Temples to Asmodeus had fallen, the book said, but Father said they might one day be raised again. And then, El'la thought to herself, we'll be truly great. Not only I, but others who followed the Dark One. Asmodeus could grant everyone their true power, bring the smallest to the greatest, and the weakest to the strongest.

Before she went back to sleep in the bed Father had prepared for her, she said her prayer to Prince Asmodeus, hoping that he could one day make her as great as Father said he would. The price she knew of, but what she remembered of her death gave her little cause to want to keep her soul for herself. And at least, in this way, greatness could still be achieved.

Well, it's time to make a decision. First off, here's the link to the campaign for anyone who missed it:
http://paizo.com/campaigns/cosmiysWayOfTheWickedCampaignGroupA/discussion&a mp;page=last

And here are the four people I've decided to pick.

El'la "Cinders" Scaldrein
Artorius Pavo
Henar the Cunning
Kaythor

For those who didn't get in, best of luck on getting into another game. There were a lot of good submissions, as always, and it's hard to pick just four people to get in.

10 Minute BG:

Six things to know about Henar
1. Henar gained his witch abilities, one night while using heavily of hallucinogenic poisons in one of the major cities near what became his home (the roadside shrine). He was visited by a shadowy image, who Henar believes killed the man sent to give him a fatal dose of poison instead of his usual recreational choice. Henar passed out from the sight of all the death in front of him, and while he slept, heexperienced highly vivid dreams, only waking days later, on the front steps of a Mitran shrine.
2. Henar is doomed to a perpetual cycle of reincarnation
3. Henar was hiding 7 followers of Asmodeus at the time of his arrest.
4. His dreams are filled with visions of past lives, some of which he blames on use of hallucinogenic poisons in his younger days, which he used to open his mind.
5. Henar prefers to keep his face and body mostly hidden, gloved and wearing veils, if possible, to hide his strange coloration.
6. All of Henar's worldly positions were last seen at the caretaker's shrine.

Five mannerisms about Henar
1. He is far too deep into his own misdirection. Even his name, Henar, is one he chose as he established the friendship with the clergymen of Mitra.
2. He is slow to get into a contract with someone, unless he feels it is truly worth it. If the person is beneath him, he is hard pressed to do it.
3. Henar is quick to anger. He is one who is not willing to give up most grudges, until the individual is dead, disabled, or something horribly negative.
4. The samsaran goes simply by Henar, unless he is in the presence of a lesser, at which point, he prefers the title given to him by his Asmodeus contact: Cunning.
5. Henar compulsively whispers to his familiar when he is nervous, seeking advice from the realms beyond.

Four goals El'la Scaldrein has
1. After he finds means and enough power to back it up, Henar plans to either raid the shrine for his family's things, destroy the shrine, or convert it fully to what he was doing before.
2. Henar wants to bring his family's support of Asmodeus to light and raise them (wherever they are) into a greater life of prosperity.
3. He wants to see Mitra's church pushed into the underground, so that it may learn what the sting of defeat feels like.
4. Short Term: Find a way to put a stranglehold on Sir Balin of Karfeld.

Three People tied to El'la Scaldrein (1 Friend, 2 Enemies)
1. The priest of Mitra who gave Henar his shrine. The man was deeply betrayed and was likely the snitch who turned him over to the authorities.
2. An unknown male agent of Asmodeus, whose name was simply told to him as "Seven." Henar sees this individual as one who had given him a goal, when his whole life was without direction. Unbeknownst to him, this man secretly was setting up a series of events that would lead the samsaran to the fiery stake.
3. Sir Balin of Karfeld has killed half a dozen of his kin, and he will die for it.

Two Secrets, one Known, one Unknown
1. Henar wishes a life free from all of the hustle and bustle, devoted to a simple life of studying whatever mysterious being gave him power.
2. Henar's patron is a shadowy servant of Asmodeus. Once a famed arcane thief, named Dakash Thuksen, he had the gaul to try and steal from the great Asmodeus's treasure room. So talented was this man, he convinced the great deal maker to spare him, if Dakash would serve him for the rest of eternity, using his talents to bring new elements to his return to prominence in Talingarde.

One major memory or life experience.
Henar remembers a trip to a traveling circus where his father had taken him to see the spectacular animals on display. Henar was very prone to sticking his fingers in places they didn't belong, when he was younger, and this led to a horrible experience when his finger went in the giant scorpion's cage. It took many years to recover, and much of his family's wealth was spent on keeping him alive, so that he would not be forced to reincarnate after such a short time. His father's only son, he was the pride and joy. Any mention of his father even now brings a sad smile to his time hardened lips.

Thank you for selecting me. I will try to update the character per your specifications today.

Hello people! Yes, this is the DM, Cosmiy, posting to this thread again. As the information here is pretty much the same information I still have, I will just be re-using this thread for re-recruitments.
I need two more people. The details on the first post are mostly still right. The group is fine, the only issue is that two people dropped, our two main melee folks, and so we need two more of them so that it won't be a bunch of casters running around, hoping not to be stabbed. IF you're interested in this, post here. If you're already in this thread and are still looking and meet that criteria, just point me to your post. Thank you.

well I could throw this guy in for review.

warning though he has be un-selected now 13 times for way of the wicked games, and I had had to rebuild him at least 10 times since each DM wanted me to re-roll.

so lets try for lucky number 14?

in all the rewrites and re submissions and reiterations there may be some inconsistencies with the story and character sheet and such. just please ask if you want to learn more.

I'll throw my hat in.

I'd be a LE anti-paladin, the last member of an Asmodean Order of Knights, hellbent on revenge.

Focus: Strength
Foible: Wisdom

1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Level 2 HP: 1d10 ⇒ 3

I'll take that re-roll for my Charisma.

1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Hi! I'm glad to see that people are interested. I might need people as well for the other campaign, as I'm not quite sure if some people are gone or not, but I may not. I think I will be closing submissions Monday at Noon (EST) if anyone else is interested?

next time one of your way of the wicked games opens up, shoot me a PM and ill make a character.

i would post one now, but i just made it to this thread and i dont have time to craft a quality submission before the deadline.

Okay, people, I am going to extend this two more days because I am going to need a third person, and I only have two. So if you are interested, I am now closing this on Wednesday, at noon.

Well, we can sure hope so. It's gonna be a tough run now.

DM Cosmiy, I have Drogan in a way of the wicked. It seems to be dead. No activity in a few weeks. We just killed the warden a were about to finish our escape. If you need a cleric/melee type he would be good. Let me know, I am an active poster and would love to keep playing this AP.

woops, sorry Drogan won't work if not using the feats. His con is crazy low b/c he was on his way to becoming a vampire. Let me roll up a ranger.

Focus: Strength
Fobile: Cha

1d10 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Well, looks like AC will suck so I guess a Greatsword using human hating Ranger.

I guess Ranger 1/Fighter 1 need heavy armor, still will not have great AC

level 2 HP: 1d10 ⇒ 2

Focus: Strength
Foible: Charisma

Dex: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Con: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Int: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Wis: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Name: Elara Korechilde
Race: Human Female
Class: Aegis 2
Alignment: LE
Crime: Murder
ackstory: Born into a family of minor nobles, Elara early on displayed immense pride and arrogance. Her family however placed all power in its male heirs and members, and for attempting to claim rights and privileges Elara was frequently and harshly punished. Locked in the darkened cellar that was her place of punishment, Elara learnt to focus her mind and create armor of pure shadows. One day she challenged her father to a duel and slew him gruesomely, and took over the household. Within a week however, his friends had discovered her crime and had her arrested and charged with murder.
Personality: Elara firmly believes in the sith code. Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. My mind shall free me. She is honorable, recognizing that a secure and reinforced social structure is the only way the strong can survive and prosper, lest they be dragged down by the weak.

Going to switch Foibile to Int, and go Rager 1/Fiendish Vessel Cleric 1.

I will keep Drogan I will just make the stat changes and take the level of ranger as my 2nd level so I will keep the 2HP yay :)

guess I better get Cyx updated but unfortunately I can't until Wed night due to work schedule.

hopefully there is enough info to get a feel for the character.

Cyx is going straight monk no multi and no prestige.

just let me know if you need any info.

new Drogan ready to go. Thanks

Alright, decision has been made. Due to one of the people actually returning from my original thread, I will only be picking two people. Sorry.
Cyx, Elara, you two are in. Best of luck to everyone else.
Here's the link to the discussion thread and gameplay thread if you need them.
