Rules Questions

How does AoO work when u move through threatened squares. Are all 8 squares around an enemy considered threatened? If I move infront or behind to confront(not running passed it) an enemy will that provoke an AoO?
Thx in advance!

As long as the opponent meets the requirement of threatening, all the squares he can legally reach are threatened. There is no facing in Pathfinder, so it does not matter if they are in combat with somebody else and you run behind them - they still get an AoO.

But if you move into a square they threaten and make no other moves, you do not provoke. You have to move through a threatened square to provoke attack. A 5' step within their threatened area in place of a move action also does not provoke.

Hope this answers your question.

(Be careful around enemies with reach weapons!)

Technically you provoke by moving out of a threatened square. Note that if youuse a move action to move 5 feet, you will provoke. A "5 foot step" is not an action and does not provoke.

It can happen ... see step up.

you come into somebody's striking distance and you try to walk out of it this is when the enemy gets an ATK of OPP

:-)

Thx guy's!
