Oh sheesh, here come the rules needs again, sorry guys...ahem...

...A Mule is a Pony modified with the Advanced Template. Its sporting the Endurance and Run feats, as well as a 17 Strength.

Max load for Str 17 is 260 Lb. For a medium sized quadraped, this number goes up by 50%, totaling almost 400 Lbs.

A creature can Drag or Pull up to 5 times its max load, with favorable conditions (like wheels) doubling the amount.

So the Mule can pull a wagon without wheels that weighs as much as almost 2000 Lb. Slap some wheels on it and that number doubles ;P

Admittedly, if a Mule pulled that heavy a wagon, it would likely tire out extremely fast, even with endurance. But our wagon would likely only weight somewhere between 1200 and 1500 pounds with equipment and everyone onboard.

With a combined pulling power of almost 8000 Lbs, two Mules should be able to handle it :D

Oh yeaaaaah [/LightCigarette] thats what daddy likes [/ShiversOfPleasure]

That being said, I find myself rather intrigued by this talk of gypsies :D

Sheesh - we'll go with plan C...might actually be a lot more interesting anyways...something about the travelling gypsies/tinkers heading that way and offering to 'give you a lift'...add Gossamer in and the trip is a whole 'nother mini-adventure and RP opportunity!!!

I like the sound of plan C... <insert big-soulful eyes here>

Haha! Fabulous, Silas. Love Zinny's scowl.

Regarding transport, OOCly and ICly I am fine with any option, honestly. Zinny has enough for the most expensive route, but I recognize others might not. In character Zinny would probably choose walking due to that being how she usually gets anywhere, and horses still seem like a luxury to her, but she doesn't want to be gone THAT long from Mother Dearest, etc, so... Yeah.

The gypsy route seems like the most potentially amusing one. :P

Same here Zinny. Maybe a wagon? It seems cheaper.

I'm also fine with the tinkers. It sounds "fun".

Those are too cute, Silas. I lurve the lil purple owl! =3

I like the role-playing opportunities of travelling along with the Tinkers most. So that's my vote. I guess now we need to go find out how much it costs. Just don't ask Grizzy to charm anyone. She's got like a -4 to her Diplo roll. D'oh!

Yea - I'll be tubing tomorrow with a bunch of teens, and will probably have a lot of work work to do Sunday afternoon, but I'll do my best to keep things moving. Doc - guess you'll be the brunt of Gossamer's jokes 'till you get back...<evil grin>

So do we still not know what the Tinkers intend to charge us? Or are they implying the trip is free provided we agree to the yet to be named chores?

Grizelda will return to her own quarters for the evening, also are scrolls available for purchase in Daggermark? I can't remember if you answered my about whether Grizzy is able to scribe scrolls herself...

Yes, you can have the scribe scroll feat per the Wizard class. You can purchase up to 2nd level scrolls in Daggermark.

I am taking my DM right to not comment outside of Jerry and the sef on what it might cost to travel with the Tinkers... =)

I had the same thing happen with the post I made before the last one. But just because I misclicked on a link (there are several on the page while you're typing) and it refreshed and lost the post. I was violently sad and left the computer, but came back the next day and did an even better post where Silas started to go through an early mid-life crisis...

Skull & Shackles Map Female Human Pathfinder Society GM Hell's Vengeance Map

I usually type up in word or something, I can't count how many times I lost a post trying to just compose it in the post window. I have found the preview window is good insurance sometimes though. Usually if I have previewed a post, I can use the back button to get back to it once my butterfingers have clicked on something else.

I'm mailing off my laptop today. It's disturbing how bummed out I am without it. I seem to running low on inspiration too. =(

But we have improved the desktop situation, at least. Even composing in word won't save you from a freeze! >_<

I love how you guys (and gals!!) can take my little hints and ideas and really bring them to life - often in unique ways I hadn't even thought of! You truly bring the characters to life - happy, sad, mischievous, brave, scared...you hit them all! <3

Just to be clear, I wanted to say that my ooc comments were not meant to be a commentary against the game. I'm just at a high threat level for whining and frustration since I'm mopey and miss my lappy-wappy. :'(

It's amazing what a difference being tied to a less than a reliable desk-top makes. >_<

I am enjoying the game, and even though Grizelda isn't the most outgoing of my characters, she's a lot of fun. ^_^

Male Human Rogue (Charlatan) 3 AC 15 T 12 FF 13 | HP 24/24/d8 | F +1 R +5 W +1 | Init +2 | Perc +6

One of the fun little tricks you can employ in those situations is what I do often enough: if RL prevents you from posting in a timely manner, just make a big post that describes where you are during the events. Now, as you pointed out, you have little room to ultimately affect the flow of action, but it gives you the awesome narrative vantage point of being able to place yourself in a mostly scripted scenario and use that scenario to detail things about your character. The action essentially becomes expository fodder.

Or awesome comedic value. Like...

Quote:

Grizelda watched all these people making "romantic connections" with the Tinkers. A lot of people accused her of being married to her magic, but in reality, Grizelda wanted the same thing any Abigail or Zinny or Tomid wanted: someone to love. Or at least, someone to flirt with her. To tell her she looked attractive in her blue dress. To tell her that hers was a solid weight without ever bringing childbearing into the conversation.

And after realizing how alone she was in this crowd, what she realized she needed more than anything else was a beer.

Wiggling her fingers, Grizelda summons a wooden mug to her hand and crosses through a throng of Tinker children playing a strange game with colored ribbons, where one child tries to bend over backwards like a rag doll just to walk below the ribbon. A smaller set of children rush past her, nearly blowing her skirts up, and she thinks to holler at them and tell them to slow down before they get hurt, but the beer keg is almost within reach! It was, of course, too heavy for her to Mage Hand to herself, but magic couldn't do everything for you.

Just before she reached it, a Tinker approached. He looked handsome. She slipped her spectacles off and tucked them into a pocket of her blouse, thinking perhaps she might seem less homely. The tinker stopped next to her and smiled. At least, she thought it was a smile. Usually smiles had more teeth than that. "I been eyein' you."

The wizardess huffs initially, but then shrugs. "Have you, now? And what exactly have you seen that you like?"

The grin becomes wider. To her horror. "I likes me a little cushion. Ain't as young as I used to be, so I'm lookin' to settle with a wiser sorta lass."

"Wiser?" Grizelda asks, the mug shaking in her hand. Or was it her hand shaking? "My good sir, if by wiser you mean more experienced, then that I have in spades. But I take umbrage with what you seem to intimate I am more experienced in; do I strike you as a sad strumpet? Why sir, I am a highly skilled and talented woman. I could, indeed, blow your mind," Grizelda fumes, breaking one of her cardinal rules and employing air quotes, "as is the vernacular in the bordello. But the manner in which I would do so, I assure you, would not be to your liking! Not at all."

To accent her point, she snaps her fingers below the man's nose. A shower of sparks bursts forth, singing his eyebrows and causing him to yelp and step back.

"Do I really look that desperate?" she asks, and no sooner had the question left her lips than she regretted ever asking.

"Well...well...yes," the Tinker whimpered before making his way under a rock.

Grizelda's shoulder sank and she heaved herself the rest of the way to the keg, where she stood in contemplation for several moments, staring at the fire. Anything to distract her from that wonderful boost to her self-esteem. There is a loud bang and a flash from the bonfire. She squints, her glasses still in the pocket. Must be fireworks going on! She smiles and lifts her mug, ready to fill it from the keg.

"Cheers! I suppose I shall drink to that."

Just as she reaches for to untap the keg for a good hearty drink, the priest kicks it over and spills the contents into the mud, shouting at everyone to jump in a mud puddle.

Not only can Grizelda not get a man to buy her a drink, it would appear she also just plain cannot get a drink. Period.

Um... please don't write for my character. That may be how you would play Grizelda, but it's not remotely how I see her. And for the record, I want nothing to do with an interaction like that. -_-

I'm a mother of two, taking 12 hours of summer online classes, and I'm playing in two games and GMing another. I write when I feel inspired to do so and it doesn't happen easily at all if I'm not. I admit I'm in a poor mood and have had a somewhat resentful outlook when sitting at this desktop, so I've been writing less. I felt slightly neglected when we went a whole page without a single @Grizelda, but I suspect the GM was just being considerate of my lap-top less state.

Sorry, but I'm a reactive role-player. I'm never going to narrate what NPCs are doing of their own accord. And I'm really trying not to be offended by this little tip, which reads more like a critique of my role-playing... but it did not make me happy, no matter how well intended it was.
