Help / Advice making Oracle

Hello,

I'm making an Oracle (lvl 1) after my last character died a brutal death. I had a few questions about them that I couldn't find anywhere else (maybe I'm looking in the wrong spots)

I'm assuming the main stat they need is Charisma, but what other stats do they need "beefed up"? Probably Int, but maybe a little Wis?

The other thing I needed Advice on is I'm debating between two races:

I was leaning more towards Sulis due to the resist, but I was thinking of going 'Tongues' oracle and thought the languages the Samsarans can learn are pretty nice.

Any help/advice would be great! (Or maybe there's a different race you'd recommend haha)

If you intend for the Oracle to focus on offensive spells and hang back, then Charisma's the kicker but you'll want enough Dexterity to hit with rays and so forth, and enough Constitution to bump up your Fort save and hp.

If, on the other hand, your oracle's going to be near the front lines to heal and cast melee-enhancing spells, Strength and Constitution are important.

Intelligence and Wisdom aren't critical, but I'd avoid going any lower than 10 - no sense wasting the superior skill-point situation you have over Clerics, or negating your innately good Will save.

There are a couple of ways to approach this. First, Oracles excel at specializing, so decide mechanically what you would like to be doing in and/or out of combat. Secondly, decide who your character is and how they will/should fit in the party (since you already know who they are...who are they, by the way?). For example, the Samsaran could be a decent face or caster focused oracle with Lore or Heavens Mystery, while the Sulis could be a front line fighter (true, not full BAB) with Battle, Metal, or Ancestors Mystery. Want to focus on healing? Go Aasimar with Life Mystery. Want to try to be a blaster? Ifrit with Fire Mystery. You have plenty of options.
