I loves me some fighters. But not the standard take a big heavy imposing object and swing it with the utmost bravado type. Although I would never insult that kind of fighter. I like to make fighters that fight in different ways without losing effectiveness, or not much at least. Some of my favorite fighters are fighters who use unarmed styles combined with some of the different fighter archetypes. So I ask you all. What are some of your more interesting or creative fighter builds? Bonus points for back story and flavor.

May I suggest you take a look at these 2 threads:
Build Thread 2: Electric Boogaloo.
This was a pretty big thread, and has all sorts of builds, from Fighters to Oracles to American Presidents (!).
Build Thread 3 - Swinging Sword and Kickin Ass!
This one was more focused on martial characters. Most of its builds are shown at 1st, 3rd, 6th and 10th level, to show how the character would progress (because building a 10th level Fighters is not the same as having said Fighter survive for 10 levels).
I'm particulary fond of Dr.Fighty McCharming (party-face Human Fighter with Cha 7) and Foxy Slicey (dueling Halfling Barbarian!), but that may because they're my builds and I'm an self-centered bastard. ^^

I keep coming back to the idea of a halfling fighter, who uses the halfling sling staff. Weapon Training and Specialization would apply equally to your melee and ranged attacks, so you'd be the perfect switch-hitter without ever having to "switch".
Someone was talking about a "tank" build on the threads not long ago, and of course the standard answer is that it doesn't work in Pathfinder because there's no aggro mechanic. There's still ways to protect your allies though-- most notably Saving Shield. I would like to try that someday, if only because it encourages the party casters to stand next to me (which makes me prime choice for receiving buff spells).
Fighters' wealth of bonus feats also means they're well-suited to take Exotic Weapon Proficiency. So wheneer I see a cool exotic weapon that looks powerful, I imagine a fighter built around it. The battle poi, the rope dart, the dwarven dorn-dergar-- any one of them screams "build a fighter that uses me to my full ptential!". Right now I'm toying with a fighter that dual-wields aklyses. Backstory? He was kidnapped by derro!

Thanks. This is basically what I was looking for.

Haven't read the whole thread yet.
Are Melee based Magai and Inquisitors allowed?
I have a couple of Builds that are both spend pretty much all thier time in Melee.
Admittedly they supplement fighting with Magic but both chars can go toe to toe with melee Big Bad's. They just don't fight fair.
I answered this in the Build Thread , but I guess there's no harm in answeing here as well...
Sure, why not? Does it kick ass? If the answer is yes, it's more than welcome! I focused on martial character they have more build variety and I wanted to see and create all sorts of cool builds.
You can even post Wizard builds if you want, but they are usually not as interesting to create or see.
