Magic Bows and Magic Arrows

Rules Questions

Just looking to understand this correctly:

"Ranged Weapons and Ammunition: The enhancement bonus from a ranged weapon does not stack with the enhancement bonus from ammunition. Only the higher of the two enhancement bonuses applies."

If I have a +1 Composite Longbow and use normal arrows, do I get +1 to hit and/or +1 damage at all? Or do the arrows need to be +1 themselves?

Trying to understand the point of making magic arrows or not
Things are getting expensive with not much gold coming in x:

Yea a bow adds all enchantments to any ammunition fired from it. but lets say you have a +1 bow, and you find some +1 flaming arrows, then as long as you use those arrows your bow would be +1 flaming bow, so if you had 3 flaming arrows then your bow will get the flaming enchantment 3 times.

So I wouldn't need to craft magic arrows.

Yea I can see my DM overrule it to require magic arrows haha. He's a bit of a "logical realism" follower even if this is a magical fantasy world... x;

Anyway, Thanks

so the question that most people ask why would you ever buy magic arrows, lets say your going to fight a white dragon but you dont have the gold to buy a flaming bow or you dont want a flaming bow. Then you will buy flaming arrows. sense they come in 50 arrows per buy you can just buy 10 of them to save some money.

Logical Realism requires that the magic bow work. Otherwise, what purpose serves a magic bow?

If a magic bow and a regular bow fire a normal arrow exactly the same, what exactly is the magic in the bow doing? An enchanted bow allows you to aim better and place your shots better, thus +X to hit and damage. Or it imbues ammunition it fires with special properties.

it imbues ammunition with all special proprieties, so a +2 flaming bow would put a +2 flaming on all ammunition that is fired from it, so a master work arrow, a +1 arrow, or a +2 arrow would add nothing to your attacks, sense the bows enchantment is higher. But if you had one +1 shocking arrow, one of your attacks could have socking on it but the +1 would not add anything.

Here's a question, does the enhancement bonus on a bow grant the DR ignoring property to the arrows? By this I mean do arrows fired from a +3 bow count as silver and cold iron, +4 bow adamantine, and a +5 bow all alignments?

@drbuzzard
Yes correct.

What about the damage of a +1 Flaming Bow and a +1 Flaming Arrow? 2d6 fire or only 1d6?

Just 1d6. The abilities won't stack. You could do +1 flaming, and +1 corrosive and stack the two. This might be cheaper than putting both enhancements on a bow. Personally I'm always disinclined to spend money on expendable resources unless I have to.

It is better for the party if you buy a scroll of fire arrow, cheaper and better.

Magic arrows in pathfinder are overpriced.
