I know it's been said before, but I wanted to say, once again, *thank you* to Ryan Dancey for the OGL.
I was thumbing through the Slumbering Tsar epic adventure book as well as Rappan Athuk - two of the better adventures, well, ever - and reflecting on the fact that if it weren't for Ryan's vision that neither of these would have been possible.
So, thank you again, Ryan!

I think the limitations of the GSL compared to the OGL turned quite a few people off, or at least put up barriers to 4E in a way that 3E never had. While it's WotC's perogative to decide how to share their licenses, I know that there are people who might have wholeheartedly supported 4E who decided instead to continue developing material for 3E-based gaming. Heck, Paizo's strong showing in the market illustrates the still vibrant audience for OGL gaming.
So here's to the OGL and here's to Ryan Dancey.

Not supposedly, they've said as much (most recently in their 10th year anniversary retrospective, Year 5).
As for the OP, hear! Hear! cheers to Ryan Dancey from me as well! Thank you, sir, and your vision.

I got a chance to thank Ryan personally about two years ago at gencon as he was on the first GenCon panel I was ever invited to sit on (I blame Stan!). I told him thank you for making what i do for a living possible, and he mentioned that he loved hearing that.
I also am looking forward to The frog god glory of Razor Coast :)
