[Jehova's Arena, Test] Fight the Twenty-Fourth, Ritti vs. Eko

Play-by-Post

Ritti, a loss under her tiny belt, comes face to face (or mask?) with one of the newest combatants. The spectators are mostly off at one of the other four fights, probably Bruno vs. Kirk, but everyone is going to know what happens here regardless. A few of the fans who took an instant liking to Ritti have come to cheer her on, hoping the first match was a fluke and she'll take the arena by storm. Nobody knows what to think of Eko yet.

Ritti A10, Eko L10, initiatives and pre-game needed.

ROLG THE RED

The skinny, spikey-haired, tattoo'd halfling girl skip-walks out of the darkness of the arena entrance for a second time. It seems a loss can't completely stamp out her effortless exuberance, though something about the intensity of her pale eyes says the loss wasn't taken lightly.

Once again she is equipped with only a few obvious items and weapons. The curved blade she carries looks well-crafted (scimitar), as do the studded leathers peeking out from under her garish mishmash of flowing silk clothes. A dagger and a spell component pouch ornament her silk sash for a belt.

About a dozen bracelets of varying styles, metals, and colors clink and clatter as she spins her blade in a flourish to the few fans who came to see her, then she bounces on the balls of her feet as she eyes her new opponent.

"Huh… never done this with a girl before…"

Arbiter:
Initiative 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

Initiative 26

Eko enters quietly the multitude of robes and cloaks preventing any hint of skin, race or gender. The robed hooded and masked figure stands patiently with nothing but a belt of pouches and a great sword, the figure shimmers in the light.

arbiter:
Eko Delays to go after Riti

"you first child" the voice is hallow and cold, emotionless.

ROLG THE RED

What size is Eko? And what race? If you're attempting to Disguise your race from Ritti, a Disguise roll may be in order.
.
Perception (to oppose Disguise; minus distance penalties)
1d20 + 4 - 5 ⇒ (10) + 4 - 5 = 9

Medium Humanoid

arbiter:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

16 Disguise

Eko is covered from head to tow in heavy clothing face covered in a mask there is nothing to see but cloth and mettle about 6'2.

ROLG THE RED

Thanks. That's helpful. :)

:: Surprise Round ::

Ritti shrugs, "That was the plan."

She spins forward a few sliding steps, feet dragging graceful furrows in the white sands before coming to a high stance – balanced on the balls of her right foot, left foot placed precisely on her right knee, blade held high in her right hand as her left makes a knife-hand held in front of her face.

She cracks a smile, "Where you get that dress, anyway? You should have some words with the seamstress... It fits horribly."

Arbiter:
Activate Dance
5' step to B.10

Dance a bit and 5' step to B.10

You're up.

Eko says nothing but draws the great sword over head and brings it down in a slow steady ark, pointing it directly at Ritt. The gesture is clearly a threat

arbiter:
cast mage armor AC now 21

There is an indistinct muttering of words and a flash of blue light

Spell craft DC 16

No other movment Ritti is up

ROLG THE RED

Arbiter:
Spellcraft 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

:: Round 1 ::

Ritti flies across the sand like an arrow to the target, ending with a low slash.

Arbiter:
Charge to K.10

Scimitar 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
---> Damage 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Charge to K.10
Attack 25; Damage 10

You're up.

::Round 1::
With a staggering blow like that there is only one course of action, Revenge!

arbiter:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 192d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 2) + 4 = 12

Attack 19
Damage 12

With a quick sweeping ark Eko brings the blade slashing towards ritti's chest

ROLG THE RED

:: Round 2 ::

The blow spins Ritti around...

... which becomes another wicked slash at the robed figure's legs.

Arbiter:
Attack

Scimitar 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
---> Damage 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Attack 27, Damage 8

You're up.

Eko rolls to the side of Ritti

arbiter:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Acrobatics 15. moves to J10 behind Ritti, most likely you get an AoO.. :(

arbiter:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 10 spell craft to see if Ritti is using any sort of spell like guidance, or something.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 24 stealth to do the roll without noise, and come up behind Ritti.. hopefully flat footed... maybe?... I desperately hope.

oddly the movment makes no noise as eko rolls across the dirt no hint of dirt crunching or cloths rustling.

arbiter:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 272d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 5) + 4 = 12 nat 20 to hit so, 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 262d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4) + 4 = 10

Attack. 27 a crit
damage. 12
Confirmation. 26
if that also hits another. 10 damage.

Eko drives the blade straight home towards Ritti's back hoping to end this before any more life threatening chops.

sorry if it's confusing, your hit defiantly landed on Eko. you're up.

ROLG THE RED

Do you mind me asking the motivation behind diving behind your opponent, risking an AoO, to make a single strike is?

Ritti:
your attacks are crazy high I am looking for any edge, in this case flat footed, also sorry you are entitled to a perception check dc 24

Stealth don't really work like that, there's no chance to gain flat-footed against an opponent in broad daylight simply by rolling. Pathfinder rules don't pay attention to stuff like facing.

arbiter:
should I just cut that bit out then?

Eben, since my move was .. well utterly useless do you care if I negate it?
I feel I should note its fine if you aren't okay with it

ROLG THE RED

Im fine with you retconning the tumbling move out.
.
And based on the number of Arbiter-spoilers – each with its own skill-descriptive narrative following it, all before your spoiler in which i assume your confirmed critical rolls were made – Im assuming there is at least one other die roll made (the Acro being the first) that is mechanically useless (Stealth, by my guess).
.
If that's true, I'd greatly appreciate it if those dice remained in play, but be appropriately applied to mechanically useful/relevant skills or attack rolls in the appropriate order.
.
Given all that, do i still need to make a Perceprion check?
If so...
Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

I'm retconning that entire post. The only roll that was made is an attack roll, that Eko got a total of 19 on.

ROLG THE RED

:: Round 3 ::

The massive blade plummets toward Ritti, but her spinning dance carries her just underneath its path. A spikey lock of dark hair hits the sand, shorn off by the huge blade under an inch from her scalp.

With no time to notice, the halfling's blade darts out a third time.

Arbiter:
Attack (again)

Scimitar 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
---> Damage 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Attack 27, Damage 10

You're up.

aribter:
Eko sacrifices 10 hp to retain her Eidolon

The till now un-bloodied Eko staggers back from the force of the blow Blood soaking through the heavy cloths.

arbiter:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Stumbling Eko tries to dive out of reach
Acro 4...
moving to J13...most likely getting killed first

arbiter:
eko then casts rejuvenation Eidolon lesser, 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 for 8 hp

ROLG THE RED

Arbiter:
Scimitar 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
---> Damage 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

AoO attack 20, Damage 10

Is it my turn? Did you take your standard action?

Yes sorry it is your turn and miraculously even though stumbling Eko narrowly avoids the blades viscous sweep

ROLG THE RED

So what visually did Eko do for the standard action? Full defense? Cast a spell? Draw something?

Eko should be out of your line of sight at J13
if not spell craft DC 16

ROLG THE RED

Hmmm... I'd think, since I have line of sight to at least part of your square, you'd have to make a Stealth check to keep me from seeing what you're doing. (If Ritti were one square north, it wouldn't be necessary.) Wanna try a Stealth check?

Arbiter:
Perception 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 4 - 1 = 20

If your Stealth beats a 20, Ritti can't see you to see what you're doing.

Sure Sounds good

arbiter:
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28

Stealth 28

Round 4 starts with Ritti.

That all seems about right as far as stealthing/noticing goes.

ROLG THE RED

Ba-HA! I certainly didn't expect a Stealth roll of 28! Sheesh. :D

:: Round 4 ::

Ritti grimaces in pain as she misses the retreating robed figure. "Why is it they always run when the halfling gets the upper hand?" she calls out to the crowd.

Then Eko hears her mutter a few words, but the pillar obstructs her from being able to identify whatever spell the halfling casts. A ten foot square of the arena sands (J/K 13/14) immediately gain a shiny sheen, becoming slippery and difficult to stand on.

Reflex Save DC 15 or fall down.

Perception DC 16:
You hear the halfling move around the north side of the pillar, ending adjacent to you (I.12)

----

Arbiter:
Cast Grease, covering J/K 13/14
Stealth move to I.12 - 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16

Casts a spell (the obstructed view means you can't Spellcraft to ID it, but I"m sure the spell is obvious).

Eko's up (but hopefully down)

arbiter:
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17 Reflex

Reflex: 17
arbiter:
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 Perception

Perception: 24

Eko is standing weapon ready as Ritti Rounds the pillar

arbiter:
Eko withdraws to E16, Acrobatics, to move through I. 13 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15, stealth behind E16. 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23

then slowly cautiously withdraws behind the pillars at G/F 15

ROLG THE RED

:: Round 5 ::

"Tell ya what" the halfling grunts with an eye roll, "When you grow a pair, come on out to the middle. We can actually fight."

She defensively heads out to the center of the arena.

Arbiter:
Cease Dance.
Full Defensive
Move to G.10

Move defensively to G.10

Eko's up

arbiter:
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27 Stealth once again and move to E15. as I cast message. If possible I want to use intimidate in conjunction with the spell... if not no problem but if I can then 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16 if 16 beats 10+wis+2 hd, Ritti is shaken for one round.

Suddenly Ritti hears a hallow cold voice in her ear low and quiet..

Ritti:
..You can not hurt us, your foolishness has blinded you....

Eko Only:
It's a cool idea, but the rules for that use of intimidate say "You can only threaten an opponent this way if it is within 30 feet and can clearly see and hear you." If you want to move out from the pillar, I guess it would work.

arbiter:
Well then no I will save that for next round..

ROLG THE RED

Sooo... let me know when I'm up. :)

so sorry, are you going to wait till you can see Eko again or want to go round by round

ROLG THE RED

Im not sure how long Eko intends to stay back there. Ritti doesn't intend to keep following Eko around, though. So do whatever healing/buffing/whatever else you have planned. Ritti will spend the time playing to the crowd and egging Eko on. When you come out, we can play it from there. Let me know how many rounds that is, and let me know what Eko does when she comes out from hiding. Ritti wil remain defensive til then.

arbiter:
Eko casts rejuvenate lesser Eidolon, 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 bringing the Eidolon to full health

..Here I am..

Eko steps from behind the pillar into E14, great sowrd in hand

End Round 6.
Ritti is up

ROLG THE RED

:: Round 7 ::

"Great!" Ritti responds, spinning her blade thoughtlessly, "Now get your ass over here."

Arbiter:
Stuff

Defensive, stand in spot.

You're up

Eko mumbles some words, gestures and a flash of light leaps from hand to hand

need a will save: DC16
and a spell craft the same DC if you like.

ROLG THE RED

Arbiter:
Spellcraft 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Spellcraft 11

Arbiter:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Will 6

Oof... dazed?

indeed

arbiter:
Eko charges, as part of the charge I shall try that intimidation thing we talked about before... 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 don't think a 13 cuts it, damn. Attack 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 11...... I am cursed by the dice gods I swear...

As you stand stunned and helpless you see Eko charging towards you sword held high above ready for a great swing.... Suddenly though you can't move or defend yourself much at all, you realize what you see before you must be the least impressive least terrifying charge in the history of the arena.

the attack misses... pathetically I might add

End of Round 8

ROLG THE RED

Dang, I thought I'd be arena paste, for sure.
:: Round 9 ::

Ritti's quips and jibes seem apparently forsaken as she fights for her life... every spinning strike bringing a grunt of pain.

----

Arbiter:
Activate Dance
Attack

[b]Scimitar 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
---> Damage 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Attack 13, Damage 3. Dang.. the dice bug is catching! :(

Eko's up

Eko swings the huge blade once again.. perhaps this time a solid hit will end the mess Eko is now in.[/ooc]

" I will find victory this day!"

arbiter:
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 262d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 2) + 4 = 7 26 Attack. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 8 doesn't confirm.

Attack: 26
Damage: 7
Crit Confirmation fails... :(

Round 9 End

This is way to tense

ROLG THE RED

The sound of a particularly sinewy cut of meat being cleaved on the chopping block is all that answer's the mysterious Eko's declaration.

Oof... yep... that'll more than do it. She's down and bleeding out, if you wanna end this thing.
.
Good game, Eko, I'm actually surprised Ritti lasted as long as she did... but the dice caught up with her after all.

Are you kidding me? how are you surprised you almost had me I just clawed through ... barely, best fight and most intense fight so far.

Eko, seeing the fallen Ritti steps over to her slowly, before driving the point of her sword through Ritti, Eko says a few low words of praise.

"Blood for blood, the sands will take us all"

CDG?

ROLG THE RED

Lol. I consider it a moral victory taht I put a ding in your synth armor. (Eko is a synth, right?)
