Yeah, the book mentions that, by default, Magnimar's the only place hit to any significant degree with everywhere else either being protected by the islands around the Varisian Gulf or far enough away that the wave's lost most of its force by then.
Does mention the GM can expand the devastation as they see fit, though.

What's a player doing in a forum largely meant for GMs what with the GM reference threads multiple threads with spoiler warnings (including this one) and all?
Them just knowing there's a tsunami means nothing in all reality either. Just ignore him or tell him to keep a look out for it or just tell him he shouldn't know about that so therefor drop it.
It's not like they know about the fame checks, monsters jumping out of the sea, etc. You're welcome, btw.

Because the GM-marked forums are for GMs only. The rest of the messageboards including the AP forums are for 'people with a pulse.'
And so long as they play/GM/are interested in the game, pulse is optional.

Ok, I've found a sidebar, explaining stuff about the flood. And thank you all, for your answers!
I am sorry, If you got trouble with your players, because of the title of this thread, Deanoth. But I don't really know how to adress my question using other words.
There are other threads as well which give away enough for observant players. I put the spoiler in there, in case more stuff gets adressed, or, if other GMs might tell me how they haven done or plan to do the tsunami.
I only have to tell my players to stay away from the given AP forum for as long as the campaign lasts, and that was never a problem for them.
Again, sorry!

Don't worry about it. Honest mistakes happen.
We're not trying to scare away actual questions. On the contrary. But check the GM reference threads first and then post there. Plenty of GMs (and the developers) to answer questions where players won't be led into Things.

It ALSO shows up on the main page with ALL the other postings for Shattered Star. So like it or not IF you put a spoiler in a title line you are STILL giving things away. I for one would PREFER if there is none. Even as a GM myself that is running this.

Not mad myself. and Thanks! :)
Next time just ask the question in the thread and in the title just ask about a problem in last book :)
