Cleric to a dragon god

Advice

Hello, I'm trying to make a cleric who's deity is a dragon. Now I would like to have this cleric imitate or become more dragon-like as they progress as a form of respect for his deity. So far I'm not having a lot of luck in this process. Does anyone have any ideas that could help me along? Thanks for the assist.

In Golarion, there is Apsu, Dahak, and Tiamat.

Tiamat has the least amount of write up.

What books are allowed?

What races are allowed?

We are not using the deities in Golarian, however it is okay to give examples to be built off of in that case. We have access to the Core, UM, UC(no guns), UM, APG, ARG and Ultimate Equipment. I'd prefer human but will look at any race combo to help me along. Once again thanks for the assist.

Okay.

Human, with the Racial Heritage(Kobold) feat, and then pick up the Draconic Aspect feat, or any of the other various Draconic feats.

Pick the Dragon Subdomain.

You looking for more martial, or casty?

Good or Evil Dragon?

How do you determine Domains and Favored Weapons?

Best way I can think of for Dragon features is Draconic Bloodline from Sorcerer, or the Dragon Disciple prestige class. Are you looking for actual ways to make such mechanics work, or a way to fluff things?

If it's the former, neither of those options are terribly conducive to a Cleric. With a respectable Cha, you could start taking Elritch Heritage (Draconic) stuff, but it's a little high on the requirements of Cha, so might not be suitable. You can get into Dragon Disciple with a single level or a spontaneous arcane spellcasting class, but it only advances the arcane class - meaning your cleric casting gets the shaft :/

You could flavor the class as a cleric while going with something else more conducive to the draconic aspect, but that'd be a pretty much character overhaul, so I'm not sure if that's something you'd want.

In regards to races, you can at least take a look at Nagaji for some reptilian features.

I'm not really sure what else I can think of to help this along though, I'm afraid :( Sorry.

Edit: Actually, Barbarians have the dragon totem line of powers, and could be an okay multiclass for a cleric, maybe... Stopping your spellcasting to go bash people's faces in and all. Could be kind of a tough fit though.

Edit 2:

There's a Dragon Subdomain!? *goes to check*

...Well, whadya know.

i found this and this
there's also the pathfinder one which is part of this domain

since dragons are the source of arcane things, you could throw in some wizard/sorcerer esk abilities

Hey if it's a home game why not just alter Dragon Disciple to make it work with divine casters? It gives you a framework to work with so should be pretty simple.

I'd recommend the Eldritch Heritage feats, taking powers from the Draconic Bloodline.

Only requisite is skill focus perception(not bad to have) and then you begin getting things like claws, resistances, a fly speed, etc by the time you take improved heritage and greater heritage. Suprised it wasn't suggested earlier.

Yeah, looking at the scalykind and feather domains. I've looked at the Eldritch Heritage feats also, however worried that the campaign would mostly be over before any useful abilities could be gained.

As for the modified dragon disciple, we are trying to stick mainly to the classes as written so I'm afraid thats mostly out.

My main problem is I need to keep my spellcasting abilities as the party goes into these super dry spells of not being able to roll above a 4 for the majority of the game

Scarab Sages

I am playing a Crossblooded Sorcerer/Dragon Disciple, totally arcane but playing him as a devoted Dragon worshipper and "evangelist" type cleric.

Meaning, while everything I do is arcane, and all my abilities are those of a sorcerer, and I dont do a darn thing that other clerics would do, I run around and espouse the awesome that is dragon kind and play as though all my spells and abilities are granted because of my worship of Apsu and Tiamat.

When I get pissed off, I blame it on Dahak.

The Racial Heritage feats can give you the flavor faster.

Bard into dragon disciple would still allow you to heal and buff your allies, and you turn into a dragon too.

Ok, it's inspire courage and not bless, but they won't care.
