LOL. Odd but I found this...
http://www.traditionaloven.com/metal/precious-metals/platinum/convert-cubic -foot-cu-ft-pt-to-pound-lb-of-platinum.html
with a relatively easy search. So 9 cubic feet is 12064 pounds. One ounce per coin (in theory) = 193024 pp. Or roughly 1.93 million GP. If you had a permanency spell to kick on top... wowser. You could afford a few more WISH's (forget limited ones). Then you could do the following:
Bracer/amulet of wishes, at will, command word activated. Cost? About 3.x million GP (I figured it out for both at will and for 5xday, but why bother with x/day (unless you only have the 1.93 million gp)). Say hello to the entire party getting a +5 stat bump and then trying to figure out how not to wreck the world even further. LOLZ.
(ps. the 3.x was BUY cost... so if you make it yourself, you could do it with the PP you get (in theory) with the perm on top of it (if available). except if I recall right, there is like 2m+ cost in wish spells you have to pay for still (doesn't get halved))
pps. Use the Master Craftsman feat to make this item, coupled with Craft wonderous items, so that you can skip any spell requirements (thus not worrying about the limit in the spell stating that any use of the created item for spell casting automatically fails). (yeh, crafting rules are broken)
ppps. RAW allow GM to not allow Major Creation to be made permanent.

How the heck is that supposed to work?

which merchant with the resource pool to trade for your 9 cubic feet of platinum is going to do so without using that zeroth level spell, detect magic?
Merchant: Oh nice, platinum.
Party: Want to trade some nice things for it?
Merchant: Let me look at it through these goggles first. Oh, it's a temporary pool of platinum. Not interested and I'm calling the city watch.
Party: Crap.
