So this came up the other day with someone playing a Titan Mauler. They can reduce reach by 5 ft for a creature. Does this mean if they do that on a medium sized human, who normally threatens the square next to them, they no longer have reach to attack beside them? I say no, because it seems that the TM is designed for attacks on large and bigger sized creatures.

No limit is given as to how far reach can be reduced, so RAW, yes. It's only for one creature at a time, and only active on the Titan Mauler's turn, so it's really not that overpowering.
If you're worried about it not matching the flavor of the archetype, consider that the archetype is supposed to allow them to wield giant weapons, which it does not. I consider this a very small consolation prize.

Does anyone have the link to the post of the author's intent for this archetype?
Jason Nelson's Intent only changes Massive Weapons, he leaves the Jotungrip ability as is, and doesn't mention Evade Reach.
-edit- fixed link (Thanks BBT)
