Maybe these will get your creative brain juices flowing?
Aneelde Cansiv - Human black dragon sycophant
Crimm Corran - Human monk polearm master
Lataf - Undead bull eidolon (sans summoner)
Nym Amalyth - Human archer skirmisher
These are all the 12th-level characters I have in my Emporium.

I'm making level 12 pregens for a one-shot. Anyone have suggestions for cool builds at level 12? I can do standard utility builds, but a lot of people here are more clever and creative than me at character builds.
Really depends on what you're looking for. Trying to establish a generic bank of ready-made character? Want a specific race, class or role(s)? Want to have a pre-built party designed to work together - and if so, a party of what size?

You can go with a motiff, that is fun. Here are 4 brothers or 4 pirates etc... or 4 pirate brothers...
just hit the 4 basic roles.... tank, rogue, healer, wizard....
there are some fun random apps for your phone that generate characters, keep hitting reroll till you see a set of traits that interest you

I just used this optimized rogue/fighter archer build called Lady MyGyver Hit&Miss in a one shot two weeks ago. It was ridiculous.
What makes things even more impressive is that I had to played the build without one of its most optimized combinations (the fogcutter lenses + obscuring mists combo). This combo would have given me range sneak attack all day nonstop. However, the one shot was limited to certain books, which did not include the resource that contains fogcutter lenses. It was also an 11th level adventure. The build goes to 16th level.
It was probably for the best, however. The GM hated me from the opening scene. I get initiative (to be expected with this build) and then let off four arrows from 50 ft away (he can sneak attack from 50 ft). The damage was 2d6 + 17 + (3d6 sneak attack) per arrow. I hit with all four arrows (gravity bow, rapid shot, manyshot, deadly aim, weapon focus, weapon specialization, arcane strike, etc...). The damage was a hundred and something. I am pretty sure I killed the beast, but GM fiat was in effect.
The beast was next in initiative, so he charges at, yes you guessed it, me. He swings and hits me with a 32 attack, but wait. I tell the GM that I get a chance to dodge the attack with snake style. Guess what, my dodge was successful. The next attacker finishes off the beast with one hit.
Probably the most fun was all of the wands this build uses. McGyver is a good name. I felt like a caster. I went invisible, flew, healed and casted comprehend languages just because I could. I like the fact that the build carries around tons of wands of different sorts and buys the wands only partially full for reduced prices. This is also perfect for a one shot because you don't care about the cost of using the wands.
Its an archer/wand user build, but I even flanked in melee once and kicked the monster with unarmed strike and sneak attack (could not back up and take shots without attacks of oppurtunity because the creature had reach).
Really, I love this build. The only thing I wished for was cluster shot to get around DR on the last beast we fought. However, if you are playing the build at 12th level, that is the level cluster shot kicks in.
Good luck not being hated by your GM and having character envy from you party members! You better lay on the humility and the praising of other characters real thick or else you are not going to go over well.

I'm planning on running a one-shot next time a GM cancels on short notice at the game shop I shop at and sometimes play at- they have rpg nights several nights a week. I wanted to have a central location to send players to if they want a character that is not one of the utility pregens I provide. True to my expectations, you guys have much more interesting builds than my standard tank, arcane caster, divine caster, and rogue.
