Hierarchy of the Iomedaean Church question

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I was considering the structure of her church and was curious if any one else had developed anything along these lines. Is there any canon head of the entire church? I have seen mention of Genedair of the Seventh Church in Absalom, but don't know if he is supposed to be the ultimate leader or not. I know that her church is organized around circles of knights priests and paladins. But has anyone read anything about a church leader? I have my own ideas to develop it for my own campaigns, but would like to know if there is a canon reference any where.

Thanks =D

There are some very vague details in Faith of Purity and The Worldwound Gambit. I suspect more details will be revealed with the Wrath of the Righteous Adventure Path, which, I'm lead to understand, is going to be about the Mendev Crusades. I'm as curious as you to find out more.

I'm curious about this a bit too. I think I remember something in her article in The Sixfold Trial saying that her "sword knights" are arranged into circles and that the First Sword Knight is the leader of the highest-ranking circle, and thus the leader, but this First Sword Knight wasn't actually named by the text. In fact, I don't think any God article has stated whether the church has a central authority figure like the Catholic Pope. With a Lawful church like Iomedae's, it would make sense, though it wouldn't with less organized faiths like Cayden Cailean's or Gorum's or even the Lawful Good Erastil (his faith focuses almost entirely on the local level of villages and small towns, with no real need to organize for country-wide or even continent-wide discussions or events, and humbleness is a big thing for him too).

The church of Iomedae is organized in circles. At the head of these circles is the First Sword Knight of Iomedae, who commands the First Circle of 14 Second Sword Knights. Each of these knights in turn commands a Second Circle, and so forth. Advancement through the ranks depends on purity of faith and purpose, ability, valor, and honor. The ranks of the Sword Knights and Circles are roughly nalogous to those of the military, and her church frequently works alongside or integrates with the local military.

So, I guess for now at least, it's up to an individual GM to flesh out what works best for the story that she wants to tell.

James Jacob has confirmed that more information will be released in Wrath of the Righteous.
