Lamashtu themed accoutrements

Advice

Grand Lodge

I am looking for some Lamashtu themed items for my Oracle PC, and am looking for what's available.

I know about the Demon Mother's Mask and Great Barghest Hero Cloak, but I was curious if there were others.

I am looking into anything, not just magical items.

Any suggestions?

Depending on how aggressively you pursue Lamashtu's agenda- Perfumes, love potions, manacles, various torture implements, a healer's kit, some of the kinkier magic items from Rise of the Runelords, tear-away clothing... really any sort of tool capable of putting a hole in someone's skull.

There aren't really any rules for it besides improvised weapons and estimating costs from masterwork toolkits, but something display of unsettling tools used in Little Shop of Horrors and a few other movies would be wonderful to just have around.

Googleshng pretty much summed up the ones that came to mind.

Also, oh god why Lamashtu. You got one scary PC idea running there...

Grand Lodge

Well, Possessed Oracle, with the Outer Rifts Mystery, going into Titan Mauler, and then Rage Prophet.

Really, you don't need a deity if you're playing an oracle (arguably the whole point of the class, thematically). That said though, if you're really going in for the whole "I'm a psychotic religious zealot who's going to smash your face with the biggest thing I can get my hands on" angle, Rovagug would be a way way way better choice than Lamashtu.

Lamashtu's more about being a completely psychotic lover than a completely psychotic fighter. The best way to really have fun with it is to just be really calm and matter of fact about rape and mutilation and horrible disfigurement because don't we all want three-eyed lobster-clawed bile-belching babies and holes to let the visions into our heads?

Rovagug's philosophy on the other hand is more just "MAIM KILL BURN! SMASH STUFF BECAUSE... SMASH STUFF THAT'S WHY!"

While I'm at it, breaker curse and battle mystery would fit this theoretical concept too... if I'm not reading too much into the titan-mauler-rage-profit angle.

Grand Lodge

More like angry mother, who praises the great mother that gave her the strength to survive, and a strong(Half-Orc) son.

I can imagine her making approaches to the other party members.

And summarily finding myself looking for the brain bleach.

Grand Lodge

Well, all of her other party members are Gnomes.

...that just made it much worse.

Grand Lodge

Well, she is not evil, just CN. Focusing on the maternal aspects of Lamashtu's Portfolio, such as creating children, and protecting them violently.

Grand Lodge

Basically, she believe Lamashtu saved her from the Worldwound.

She will also have the Twisted Flesh feat to reflect this time there.

That sounds fine, though wouldn't most of her children end up closer to Chaotic Evil?

Then again, I guess it's up to her when it comes to raising them and whatnot, but anyway...

Even Chaotic Evil can love their momma.

You never seen Hitchcock's Psycho?

I should watch that one again.

My memory is notoriously terrible at times.

It's canon IMC that Lamashtu can guarantee you fast, easy, painless births and strong, healthy children. Of course, "strong healthy three-eyed lobster-clawed children who belch bile" are totally included in that last.

(IMC, it's often more of a die-roll: many of the women who slip away to consult a secret cleric of Lamashtu end up with a baby that *looks* perfectly okay. In fact, in many cases they are perfectly okay -- if they all turn out three-eyed and whatnot, the marks will stop coming. In a settled community where the cult of Lamashtu is underground, you want a steady stream of nervous mothers-to-be. If this particular kid doesn't turn out tainted or deformed, that's fine... there'll be more.)

Twin Keen Kukris. One with the flaming and the other with the frost abilities.

Also Lamashtu's Mark would be a perfect feat. You might want look into the spell Waters of Lamashtu.

Another idea is to check out Burnt Offerings, the first module in the Rise of the Runelords AP. There is some gear and other things worked in with Lamashtu in there.

Grand Lodge

Actually, this PC is for a RotRL.

I thought there was some kind of "Black Milk" item, but I can't find it any where.

Grand Lodge

Wait, the PC is FOR RotRL??? And your GM said ok?

Just as a minor warning you're going to be in conflict with the party due to a few enemies worshiping Lamashtu. Not sure if I'd go ahead with this.

Grand Lodge

Well, those ones killed her son(the Half-Orc), so no love for them.

I have it worked out to avoid any PvP.

You might be thinking of the Black Blooded Oracle archetype.

Also, has your GM read the AP he's about to run in advance? Because yeah, I can't really see a proper devoutee of Lamashtu not derailing the whole game around the second or third session in.

Fun character concept here and I was looking forward to hearing what you were doing with it, but... yeah. You're kinda staring down some serious conflict of interest.

.... and as I'm posting this, you post that. So... good luck I guess!

Grand Lodge

Well, she has very low wisdom, and very limited understanding of proper worship.

It could be described as, heretical, by some.

Think Catholic vs Protestant.

Apparently, they worship the same god.

That just made me giggle.

Anyway luckily since she's an oracle there wont be any big power problems...maybe there might be some character development that causes her to turn from Lamashtu and use her creepy gifts for Shelyn or some minor god of fertility.

Anyway have you lookedinto Ghoz Masks? or perhaps something like and undercutting axe or other such thing?

Grand Lodge

I get the Goz Mask, as it syncs with the Planar Haze Revelation, but why the Undercutting Axe?

Grand Lodge

I swear there was something called the Black Milk of the Demon Queen, or something like that.

"OK new convert. Go seek out and preserve all that is beautiful in the world!"

"Sure thing! Open sores, three legged goats, and vestigial flippers here I come!"

"Uh... k.. just don't make any new ones?"

Grand Lodge

Yes. Basically, sees beauty where others see horror.

What is Rovagug taking lessons from Kharn?

Ah. You caught that too. No Betrayer for me.

No, this is more Fluttershy meets Cultistchan, with Slaanesh overtones, wrapped in an Edith Bunker blanket.

Sounds like an interesting character.

Grand Lodge

Thank you.

I was hoping to see if there were other Lamashtu themed items, or items that could be easily made Lamashtu themed.

Part of concept, is that even though she might not fully understand how to worship, she collects what she considers "religious items".

These need not all be magical in nature.

Well he isn't called the Devourer for nothing. Dude kinda just wants to destroy everything.

Silver Crusade

Kharn huh....THis Thread needs more D-D-D-DOOMRIDER!!!!

Also seems more Tzeentchi than Slaaneshi since its more about Mutations and Hope rather than noise and hedonism.

....Plus Slaanesh may be the god/godess of pleasure, but Tzeentch is the one with a Thousand Sons

Sorry about Undercutting, I meant Beaststrike Club.

Grand Lodge

Tzeentch huh?

All according to plan....

I'm super excited to hear of someone else building a Lamashtu-themed character. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who finds her intriguing, rather than disgusting. :)

I really hope this works out well for you! I'll be watching this thread myself to see what others come up with. I have an alchemist that worships Lamashtu, who sees her ideals on bodily "perfection" as a science, and her studies and mutagenic form reflect that (big, burly, horned jackal-headed humanoid with cloven hooves for feet, with the feral mutagen discovery, gone Master Chymist). I also have a gnoll character who worships her, but that's more for their race than anything else.

I might would recommend the Canid Carcanet from the Dog Pharoah's Tomb PFS scenario - it gives you speak with canines, the ability to turn into a quadrupedal canine three times per day, and essentially looks like a symbol of Lamashtu minus the third eye. Lamashtu's Mark and Demonic Obedience are good feats to choose, with Jackal Heritage being a possibility too. Yeah, it's for jackal-weres rather than unholy jackal-headed demon queens, but still! Same species. I also totally second the Waters of Lamashtu spell - it's surprisingly potent/effective if you have a way of delivering the waters to the victim.

Also, you might consider the boon from the Runelords campaign that you get from the rune of Lust. To receive the benefits of the boon, your character has to have sex every 12 hours. Combine that with Demonic Obedience (for Lamashtu you have to have sex with the express intent of impregnation at least once per day) and you have a perfect combination of very unique effects. <3

Also, there's nothing wrong with lobster-clawed babies! After all, they may end up looking like this! http://media.trollandtoad.com/products/pictures/794032.jpg And who doesn't want treachery demon/glabrezu babies to defend them. ^_^

And don't forget the nice comfortable crib with a cage top and a hard-to-pick lock, the baby pacifier with a morphine and/or Waters of Lamashtu dispenser, and the complete collection of appropriately-themed baby toys.

Grand Lodge

For added accoutrements to this RotRL PC, I have decided to try update the Lamashtu Relics of Faith from the original Sins of Saviors.

See my attempts here.

Something of regeneration. You'll need it after birthing demons.
