I used to be a swallow Eidolon, but then I saw myself eat

Advice

Dark Archive

Ok, so... I'm a level 2 Summoner with a Serpentine base Eidolon. Originally, I thought about making it a nom-machine capable of consuming entire battlefields, keeping its health up with fast healing 3.

However... the one thing that I absolutely want for this Eidolon is that it looks like a Lamia. Snake from the waist down. So for it to look like that, and try to swallow people whole... not a pretty sight.

And therefore, I had to scrap my entire grapple-based swallow Eidolon build, and came here for some creative advice.

What do you think, ladies and mentlegen? Can anyone point me in a neat direction to build my Eidolon in?

So far, I've come up with:
Dervish Dancing Snake (maybe with spells)
Poison Bite and Rend Claw w/Constrict
Support Duo (Both I and my Eidolon go with the highest AC available and buff/support rest of party)

and... as a last resort... I MIGHT swallow my fantasies of a beautiful Eidlon Lamia waifu... and go with the Devouring Lamia from hell build
but the thought of her stomach bulging out as she dissolves a monkey or something makes me grimace heavily :<

I dunno, lamia eating people sounds about right. That's what the original was cursed for IIRC.

Remember that you don't need to decide it all, in advance. You can change the evolutions around, whenever you level up.

Especially concerning the swallowing, I is not really useful until you are lvl 8, and the eidolon can become large (since you can only swallow whole a creature one size category below you).

In length, I don't think the Dervish Dance is that useful (since size increases str considerably), eventhough it fits the graceful Lamia very well.
Perhaps an archer Eidolon would work.

I was thinking a Medusa type hero. Some kind of hair attacks (tentacles) and proficiency with Longbow make it composite with str bonus. Better yet get the magical type that's scales with str level. Have arrows and arrows one size larger for when you cast enlarge on HeR so her damage the bow scales with size.

I like the medusa-type option Rogar suggested.

tack on a tentacle attack whenever your max attacks goes up.
Add some grab and constrict options on the tail.
Everything else up in the air!

The serpentine eidolon does have the best Dex. You could get reach on one of its attacks and get Combat Reflexes and Bodyguard.

That would work well with the Shield Ally ability.

Give her an extra head on the other end of her serpentine body, have that one be the head that swallows.

Remember, eidolons are freaky-wierd. Keep your same idea, but say the jaw dis-joints and the neck stretches out as necessary. Like how boa constrictors swallow pigs.

Eidolons are extraplanar creatures, you could just re-fluff the "swallowing" as some sort of portal it can open up at will to stuff creatures inside. It isn't actually eating them, just wrestling them into a faux Bag of Holding. It's the same mechanics, she's still grappling them, it's just not her mouth she's cramming them into.

If it's for PFS, you'd probably still have to call it the "swallow" evolution, but imagine it however you like.

Note that a serpentine eidolon automatically has reach with its bite -- no choice there. This does suggest some weird things about the eidolon's neck, even for one that you want to give a relatively humanoid appearance.

David, as for that, I imagine more as using the abdomen like a snake does, lunging out using the tail as an anchor to return to.

HeraldKlak, though I do not need to decide the evolutions right away, the feats that an eidolon gets are set once they're chosen, so I'd definitely like to plan this out before I go all in.

Rogar & EvilMinion, wouldn't that limit her to one shot a turn?

Also, I'm more or less basing my Eidolon on Alipheese Fateburn, from Monster Girl Quest, so if anyone has any ideas as to how to make it more like her, I'm open to ideas.

Dunno about making her an archer (it fits the medusa concept, but doesn't mesh well with natural attacks)

A couple of weapons might be doable though.

Your Monster Girl image would be difficult to do, as eidolons are really designed to be physical combatants, not magical. Most evolutions that might give you the elemental attacks or gaze attacks would cost way to much, and have limited uses.

Elemental Attacks and Frightful Presence might mimic some of it though, I suppose. Not familiar with the source material.

You could have it's chest cavity open up some gapin maw like thing, and just stuff them inside for the swallow whole ability.

Liberty's Edge

Could give her a straw, a-la Toriko :P

Or, you could mix it with a hydra/scylla idea, have multiple heads either on the tail or a female top half in between others, or snake headed arms and have nommers.

Or make her huge and get shrink and growth spells and she could pop them like M&Ms.

OR! .... You could say something like her hair grabs them and makes them disappear into her stomach, like a magic trick.

Otherwise if you want a hot snake chick (and really who doesn't?) You can theme it also on Mariliths for lots of weapons or try for a Lillend and focus on spells and magic options (ultimate magic helps for that).
