Here's how good this year was: NO golden tickets

Seriously, we didn't have to use the golden ticket process. The three of us agreed on essentially all but the final 4 items of the top 32. Except for those last four slots, not even a SINGLE item in the top 32 had a NO vote from any of the three judges. That has never happened before. Normally we have a solid 16 or so we all agree on and then the rest one of us likes but the other doesnt, etc., so we use a golden ticket method. Not this year. That is how much consensus there was by the judges, which also means that is how good the items were.

That's not entirely correct. I should say we didnt have to use the golden ticket process for any of the top 32. Wolf and I used a golden ticket each on the final two alternates (of the four alternates).

Nice. Very nice.

What I really like is that you left out the silly creation backstory, which would have read as follows:

"Originally created by arch-lich Kire Anom to fend off the overbearing Orcus, lord of undeath, and the grasping clutches of the Kobold king, these golden tickets are prized by creators of arcane items throughout the planes of existence."

It may be true, but its not needed. See, your gag item makes an awesome submission...

This thread made me remember the Gag Item thread from 2009....see even Clark uses "prized by." :-)

Nice catch.

Of course he uses it in a backstory paragraph that he points out isn't necessary so.....RPGSS hopefuls, there is a lesson in that.

That's incredible. Last year, in the top 33 (one alternate switched in) only seven got initial "Keep" designations from all four judges. That means 26 of them were rejected by one or even two of the judges, and they still made it to the top 33. To have all 32 get keeps from all three judges this year, well that is just amazing. Way to step it up, Superstar contestants. I'm guessing this means we will likely have a very tough fought contest for the next four rounds.
