In a game I recently started playing our party found and saved an npc who the DM has said will join the party as cohort to our party. Which archetype would be best for her to be? Synthesist probably doesn't need to be used since our DM rolled her stats (and they're pretty ridiculous). She is human and will probably be 2 to 3 levels lower than the party, which is level 5 now.

Well, with that much melee, a master summoner or broodmaster might be nice to help set up flanks (even better for the ninja). On the other hand, Master Summoner at least will probably see the field flooded with creatures, which might be annoying and/or cumbersome.
Eidolons can make very nice skill monkeys, but from the sounds of the classes, I'm guessing the group probably isn't hurting for skills?
I'd recommend broodmaster or master summoner if having lots of critters to set up flanks for the party sounds appealing and there won't be trouble with running several creatures at a time (dunno if the party or GM will be doing control of the summoner?).
If nothing else, you may be able to just have her to cover weak spots in the group, no archetype needed. The summoner herself can be good for buffing/battlefield control, while the eidolon could do... a number of things. Actually, if you want to go this route, Evolutionist might be a good archetype.
