Hello Forum!
I have to create an 8th level alchemist for an upcoming game on short notice - the campaign consists of the challenge of the starstone... and should be from 8th to 20th level.
I want to create (or find) the ultimate build for a "Jekyll and Hyde" type alchemist, melee based instead of bombs -- as the theme suggests he should be a hideous beast from his mutagens but capable of intellectual endeavors as well.
Can anybody point me in the right direction? I am on very short notice and designing builds is NOT my strong suit. I got advice in the forums for a GREAT bard build months back, so I am hoping I get good advice or referral so I don't have to reinvent the wheel!
Please and thank you! Very grateful to all who read, and especially to those that post.

Race-
Human
-Classes-
Alchemist - Vivisectionist Ragechemist
-Stats-
STR 15 (+2 racial)(+5 leveling)(+6 magic item) = 28
DEX 14
CON 14
INT 16
WIS 10
CHA 08
-Feats-
01) brew potion,
02) D. Preserve Organs
03)
04) D. Spontaneous Healing
05)
06) D. Healing Touch
07)
08) D. Preserve Organs
09)
10) D. Enhance Potion
11)
12) D. Greater Mutagen
13)
14) D. Extend Potion
15)
16) D. Eternal Potion
17)
18) D. Grand Mutagen
19)
20) D. Preserve Organs, GD. True Mutagen
-Background-
Its not a "Jekyll and Hyde" type alchemist but it is melee orintated with no bombs. The Discoveries listed are the best set up for such an Alchemist. Preserve Organs gives a 25% chance of ignoring crits and sneak attacks and can be obtained 3 times max. Mutagens of course are no brainier. U pick up Spontaneous Healing and Healing Touch so u can fast heal ur self 5hp every round for 5x character level and if u were to be dropped in the negatives it auto kicks in if u have uses left. Bow the Enhance Potion, Extend Potion, Eternal Potion combo is a bit taxing but well worth it. The combo will allow u to, a number of times per day equal to ur int modifier, treat any potion u consume at ur alchemist level instead of its caster level, double its duration and if u so chose make a potion that u double become perma. The combo works great with potions like Mage Armor were u would only need to drink it in the beginning of the day and it should persist till next morning, and with displacement were u make a crappy few round ability become perma.

@Proftobe -- the Alchy Amy build LOOKS AMAZING... but I have a big question -- It lists "changeling" as the race for the build... aren't those monsters... where in the rules does it say a character can be an irregular "humanoid" race? I don't want my GM to feel I'm chiseling for unfair advantages if I can help it!!!
Is picking a race like changeling common and legal? Where in the rules does it say?

U can play monstrous races if GM allows it. Most DMs though would laugh and say no core races only. After all how would ur human react when he sees a goblin walking in the idle of the street. I know i would behead the little thing in an ally the 1st chance i get since they are normally my enemy unless the campaign says that ur allies with it.

Going to see what I can do with Alchy Amy... I bought the PDF for ARG so I could use changeling... almost all the info on it is already online, but there are special feats in the PDF "Mother's Gift" that are cool so I've no regrets.
Thanks for all the advice, if anybody has opinions/suggestions/etc. for the alchy amy build I'd love to hear it.

Do you want to be a ranged bomber or a melee fighter?
If I was a ranged bomber I would have something like this:
It's Raining Bombs
Str 13
Dex 16
Con 12
Int 25 (Plus 2 racial, plus 4 headband, plus 2 level ups)
Wis 12
Feats/Discoveries
1 Point Blank Shot, Splash weapon mastery
2 Discovery: Precise Bomb
3 Extra Discovery : Tanglefoot Bomb (DC 21 or be entangled and glued to the floor for 2d4 rounds, splash is just entangled)
4 Discovery: Smoke Bomb
5 Extra Bombs
6 Stink Bomb or Infusion
7 Rapid Shot
8 Fast Bombs
I really like the control I get with my bombs, and I love sharing infusions with other people, so I go more that direction, but you can go flat damage if you want, getting acid and frost bombs instead. At level 9, get extra discovery: Confusion bomb for a no save confusion that lasts a round/level.

If you want to still have a good int while using your mutagen, I'd suggest avoiding the ragechemist. Every time you get hit, you need to make a will save, if you fail, your int drops by 2 until your mutagen wears off.
If you want a real melee monster I'd go with the beastmorph/vivisectionist archetypes. Beastmorph gives you extra abilities (of your choice) from the beast shape line of spells, it can be quite useful. Vivisectionist trades your bombs for a sneak attack, now imagine getting sneak on 3+ attacks a round and you will be a monster.
For discoveries, I'd go with feral mutagen, preserve organs (1-3 times), spontaneous healing, healing touch, mummification, greater and grand mutagen, wings, extend/enhance/eternal potion and possibly lingering spirit.
For feats, you don't really need that much besides power attack and maybe iron will.
You may want to dip into the master chymist prestige class, for extra uses of mutate a day, and advanced discoveries.
I have an alchemist a lot like this and I'm enjoying it a lot. Except I have the bombs instead of the sneak attack, for more versatility.

I have been playing a Beastmorph/Vivisectionist Alchemist with a lot of the advice above for a few weeks and it's awesome... really enjoying it. My build can't talk to ANYBODY (which is a great break from always striving to be party face and giving other people a shot at it) and the DPR for this guy is truly absurd. Within the context of the story (Epic level characters drained down to 8th level) I was able to justify having a high level Greater Magic Fang potion as part of starting gear which with alchemical allocation is cooler than most stuff I'm likely to find in the campaign.
I basically try to spend as much time as I can out of sight or invisible, and pop out only to absolutely horrify or dice people, both literally and figuratively.
He's a great contrast to my Oracle/Bard hybrid I'm playing in another campaign, who is almost useless in combat but has ATMOSPHERIC knowledge, Craft, and Communication skills. Skill monkey + Versatile performance + Lore Revelations, Breadth of Knowledge, Bardic Knowledge, and Bardic Lore = WHAT DID YOU ROLL?!
