I don't know much about the River Kingdoms as I do not own (and can't buy) the books/pdfs, so is there a place to find out about the region or will we be granted the pdfs should we be selected for top 32?
I know we are supposed to have knowledge of the setting, but frankly I avoid premade stuff like plague in playing/running the game, but am perfectly willing to do the research needed to make an item fit the setting (research is good for inspiration too).

Try the pathfinder wiki here. However, I have over a shelf of pathfinder books and the Guide to the River Kingdoms is certainly in my top 10 if not top 5 of the entire collection. My understanding is that the top 32 receive pdf copies so between the wiki and a free copy if you make it in, you'll most likely be fine. Alternatively, purchasing a copy is full of win too.

I can't buy, though I would if I could, at least if I made top 32. Right now I'm hoping my half a tank of gas will last the next 8 days when I get my paycheck because I have nothing, not even a dollar to buy more gas, so when I say can't, I mean it.

If I understand you correctly, you're implying that the Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition Deluxe Collector's Edition takes place in the River Kingdoms. To prevent any confusion among potential contestants looking for information on the region of the Round 2 submission, I wanted to clarify that this is not the case. That adventure path takes place in the region of Varisia; the Kingmaker Adventure Path is the one that takes place in the River Kingdoms.

Not a great way, but I have received many products in exchange for the work I have done. I prefer getting product more than cash, which would then be spent buying more product anyway. Saving quite a few steps in the loop.
