My girlfriend and I just voted at more-or-less the same time and received the exact same pair of items. If it's based on a random seed that uses the time component, this may not really be a revelation, but thought I'd share.

I'm pretty sure this (or something very similar to this) happened to my husband and I this past weekend. I just chalked it up to a random occurrence, but it could very well have had something to do with the fact that we were pretty much voting at the same time.

If you didn't vote for either item, they can sometimes repeat. As I understand it, items don't really leave the "next" queue until they've been voted on.
