Hey all,
The area in which I live doesn't have much opportunity for campaigns and meeting people to play. So therefore, I'm looking for someone interested in DMing, and maybe 2-3 other players besides a friend and myself to start up a campaign! DM has choice over what to run, although Reign of Winter sounds pretty awesome! *hint*
Would prefer to play with Maptools.
Hope this gathers some interest!

I'd play with you guys. I'm in the same boat as you, and i'm rather tired of submitting characters or creating threads for recrutiment, and then having them flood, and not be able to play. There is a particular story that goes along with this, but I won't tell it if you don't want to hear it.
Sincerely, Baron of the Sands

There seems to be some sort of trend with me and recruitment threads. I think of an interesting idea for a game, make a thread for it, and come up with all of this neat stuff for it. So all of a sudden, all these people make new threads for games that are almost carbon copy of my setup, with different stories. And I am completely forgotten about. My main one that really PO'd me was playing a mythic-level campaign. Thought would be a great idea. My group ditches me for another one of those games, and i'm left completely screwed. So I kind of don't mess with homebrew on message boards anymore.

my preferred AP would be either Way of the Wicked, or Carrion Crown. I've got plenty of XP with Part 1 of Carrion Crown, since i've started it, like , 30 times, but never seem to finish it. In the case of Carrion Crown, if everyone is familiar with part one, I would wish to see us starting at part 2. But this is just opinion. I will run Way of the Wicked if someone cares to share that with me, but short of buying the entire thing, and shipping it to me, or buying the pdf's, and linking them to me, not much I can do about that. I would enjoy a rousing game of Rise of the Runelords Anniversery though.

That sounds unfortunate! But I'm thinking we should find around 5 players, and a DM.I unfortunately have ran Carrion Crown, and I know the story pretty well, so that one may be out of the question.
I may be missing something however, which one is Way of the Wicked?
The name sounds interesting at least!
But Baron, I'm thinking a traditional "start at lvl 1" game, see how far we can get with it.

Way of the Wicked is by Frog Mouth Games, I believe. It leans heavily towards LE PCs (No chaotic or good aligned allowed). Your PCs start out imprisoned for crimes they DID indeed commit, and then must escape to take terrible vengeance out on a LG kingdom IIRC.
They couldn't use the Pathfinder official setting, but it can be dropped in pretty easily, and since his name is public domain, Asmodeus is the 'go to dark god' behind the scenes ...
Again, if I recall. I've never actually played it but it has gotten a lot of good word of mouth.

I just did some research into WotW, and it seems pretty awesome. Usually most evil campaigns fall apart, but it would be kind of fun to try something like that, especially since it got such high ratings! I'm all for doing really anything. Like I said, I just have some pretty in-depth experience with Carrion Crown, so i'd like to do something new, but would really do anything, just to get something going.
I am currently also in a Shattered Star group with some friends, and we have played through RotRL. Just a little backround on what I know the most about, to avoid re-running the same stuff.
Let me know what you think!
I'd say my top 5 choices would be:
1. Reign of Winter
2. Way of the Wicked
3. Kingmaker
4. Jade Regent
5. Homebrew (If the DM can make an interesting enough story)

I just looked into Way of the Wicked and it seems very cool. I usually play the good guy go getter type of character so it would be an interesting change of pace for me. I'd be interesting in playing that if you were planning on running it Baron. I'd even be willing to buy the pdf. I am the friend that GunnerRecall mentioned who will be playing as well btw. =)

KingMaker would be awesome, Reign of Winter will be neat, i'm getting those when they're released, and I would 99% run Way of the Wicked if you get me those pdfs. Don't much care for the oriental stuff paizo has so, I would prefer not to play Jade Regent, but if that's what it's down to, it's better than nothing.

Haven't decided yet. I'm going to have to do some research on Kingmaker, but if the stories I have heard are to be believed, then i'm going to hopefully be able to play Borris Markovich, Aldori Swordlord of Brevoy, with more elaboration on him if I play him, or Natalya Romanov, some kind of Rogue, I imagine. Again, more elaboration if I play her. I can think of some others, but seeing how Brevoy is basically Russia, those are my two current thoughts. I'll get back to that later. Just spent the last hour reading Old Man Henderson's story. Give it a read if you want a good laugh.

I don't think that appropriate, since Ridge didn't really attribute anything to this thread, other than knowledge of what Way of the Wicked was, that could be found rather easily with a google search. If we go that approach I should think we will end up with Dean Alder, VuVu, Gunner, Nylissa, and myself in a party. I'm going to have to net a GM who want's to play with five people. If it's down to four, and we use this method, sorry Nylissa, but i'm sure you would make for a good stand-by, if you still cared to. Please note that I am not trying to step on any toes with this post, I am only stating what should happen if we follow the above method.

I don't want PvP either, but no. Unfortuantely, I did indeed mean PbP. Roll20.net is what I believed I used for a homebrew game I played with some people. It seemed to work out well. Vonzara Brightstar was the GM for that one. I am afraid I do not much care for PbP games, as I don't feel as immersed in play. I feel like PbP is writing a story and being a coauthor, with one person who has general idea of how it should turn out, but all in all, it seems like a big creative writing assignment, not an RPG. But this is just personal opinion. As mentioned before, we will settle the matter of how we are going to play once all potential party members have made their input on the subject. So far, i'm up for anything, but would strongly prefer not to play PbP, and VuVu seems to be all for PbP.
