I sent in my item. Getting in to RPG Superstar is like learning to fight. You have to be willing to get the crap beat out of yourself until you learn to win or die trying. Getting in can't be worse than 2011? Right? Right!!!???
Also, thanks to Lisa for posting the link to the Hitler rejection video. And try beer. Beer helps before submitting. Really, it does.
Peace out and good luck to everyone who submits. Getting in ain't nothing compared to archtypes. Archteypes. Damn your eyes, archetypes.

I've already ditched two items and am debating between two more (or making other ones) for my entry this year. Second-guessing oneself is rough.
Wow do I ever know what you mean. This is my second time, and the process is excruciating. Its like all the ideas you've had all year have suddenly begun to smell, and the only remedy is to come up with an entirely new batch that MUST be far more awesome than ever before. Submitting will have me in a cold sweat when it comes. Heck, most real job interviews never did this to me!
Actually I find that much of the pain comes from never knowing for absolute certain, in spite of all the googling, reading and research, whether your idea has already been done.
Best of luck to everyone who participates!

Good luck everyone. The biggest barrier to winning this competition is not getting that first entry in. Once you've done that, you should be proud of yourself.
Write, re-write and write again, but above all submit. Even if you don't make the top 32, you'll have learned a lot about the process. It took me three years to get in and each year's entry was an improvement on the previous time.
Also, write up your ideas in the format as you go along. Don't wait until you've got a winning idea to get writing. All my entries last year (other than the awful last one) came out of re-writes that eventually bore little resemblance to the original concept. The first idea might stink, but you can probably take something from that write-up into you next draft. Hopefully it will evolve into something great.

Yup. This. The man speaks the truth!
