Hi. Just looking for some feat advice from levels 1 - 9 for an Abyssal sorcerere. Core rule book only.
I belive we will be starting an adventure path so I've been tinkering with some character concepts on paper. What I came up with today is -
Arcane strike lvl 1
Combat Casting lvl 3
Spell Pen lvl 5
Empowered spell and greater spell pen lvl 7
Heighten spell lvl 9
I'm not sure how much I want to summon stuff but that fits with the arcana bonus so the improved summon feat isn't off the table but I do gete it as a bonus later any hoo.
Only played one sorcerer and didn't do well with feat choice for a sorcerer so was curious what you may suggest.
Thanks for any feedback!

Think about what types of spells you use, and select feats to back those up. Are you planning to summon stuff, charm stuff, blast away, buff your friends, control the battlefield, use illusions, what?
Improved initiative is extremely useful for any spellcaster (go first, do something handy).
Skip the item creation feats: they're for wizards and clerics with their more flexible spell selection.

What race are you playing?
And abyssal has support for summoning with the bloodline and getting augment summoning at level 7 (although I think this might be too late if your game only goes up to 9th level)
Also, I dont know if arcane strike is a good idea, This bloodline doesn't seem that great for fighting in melee, you have low BAB, cant wear armor, and you are only proficient with simple weapons. At least imo.
Anyway, since you are core only,
i would recommend spell focus (conjuration), probably just get greater fort as your bonus feat
other feats to get:
Improved Initiative, toughness, piercing spell (i like it more than spell penetration + greater)

If you want to grab a metamagic early, go with the extend spell metamagic. Given you're going abyssal, going for augmented summoning would make a lot of sense. Arcane Strike will be nice at low levels, but unless you have the option to retrain around level 5 it's going to eventually be a dead-weight.
Unless you're playing a drow elf to get your mental attribute boost in charisma, I'd recommend changing your race. Having a racial bonus in charisma is absolutely massive for the sorcerer. That +2 to charisma doesn't look like much, but it works out to be more influential than every other racial benefit combined. If you do end up playing an elf from the 1st level, toughness is going to be a lifesaver.
