Need a level 1-20 campain

Product Discussion

I am looking for a 1-20 3PP to run in the next few monthes.

Slumbering tsar by frog god games is 7-20. Rappan Athuk is 1-20 I believe.

Castle Whiterock by Goodman Games
D&D 3.5, but still quite useable

Isn't Rappan Athuk the game to run if you have a grudge against your players?

Way of the Wicked from Fire Mountain Games goes all the way from 1 to 20. It's an AP for evil characters, though.
Does it have to be 3PP? If not, you might like to have a look at Paizo's old Adventure Paths, with things like Age of Worms. Those are 3.5, though, and would need quite some loving care prior to running.

Huh? Wasn't that the job description for Slumbering Tsar?

I am looking for neutral to good alinment Campain as I still learning to GM.

Oops, my mistake. Yeah, Tsar is when you only want to GM for an hour at a time.

Also, I think Steel_Wind has converted the better part of Age of Worms to Pathfinder. I think the game has gone by the wayside, but it seemed to be going fairly well while it was going. Here are the running notes of it on d20radio.

Rappan Athuk will work for 1-20, but you should hope that your PCs are experienced or they're going to end up dead before they even get a chance to go down the well. If they aren't, you can start at level 2-4 to make it not quiet as brutal (but still incredibly so later on)

I didnt realize you were new to gming, I wouldnt in that case recommend tsar, its a handful to run even as an experienced gm. Is there a particular reason you want it to be 1-20 and you want it to be 3rd party?

Rappan Athuk is probably at LEAST as lethal as Slumbering Tsar. Even ignoring the final encounter, which might well read:

Spoiler:
Orcus kills you. No save.

Grand Lodge

There is also War of the Burning Sky.

Shadow Lodge

And it's sequel, Zeitgeist...although that seems to have stalled out.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

ZEITGEIST hasn't stopped. We just made the mistake of trying to squeeze in an extra book on naval combat, which since we're a small company with a small staff, pushed back the 5th adventure a few months.

But the 5th adventure is out now, and the 6th should be released in late January, then the 7th in March as we work to catch up to our original once-per-quarter release schedule.

You have no idea how glad I am to hear this. This glad actually.. :D

A long time project of mine has been converting stories like Journey to the West (and some stuff from the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms) into a 1-20 d20 campaign.

Way of the wicked.

war of the burning sky is 3pp, is awesome, is its own world and for good neutral PC's, has plenty of support stuff so thats a plus for a new GM and is available at rpgnow in pdf & softcover for $30.

Shackeld city hardcover is $30 is great, is a bit disjointed but the boards here have some awesome support material for it, its for good/neutral PC's and was the 'first adventure path 1-20' that was run in dungeon magazine.

both are 3.5e (i think war of the burning sky is 4e as well, ) so if you are a pathfinder player they need a bit of tweaking.

But i have to say for the price they are both more than worth it

fixed for you

Any reason it needs to be a continuous arc from 1 all the way to 20? Certainly getting to 10th even is a feat in and of itself. Shades of Gray will take you from 1-10 (d20 3.5 ed.) as will Splinters of Faith (PFRPG). I've never played either so I can't comment on the play, but I've had both on the backburner for a while.

For the two APs I've worked on (War of the Burning Sky, and ZEITGEIST: The Gears of Revolution), we've made a point of planning the campaigns with three acts, each of which has its own solid story arc.

Each adventure stands alone, so you can run one and be done. And each act stands alone (covering 6 or 7 levels), so if you start to see signs that players are going to move away, or personal stuff is going to make it hard to game, you can work toward a still-satisfactory climax, even if you don't finish the whole campaign.

Jem'Nai, what did you decide on?
