It looks like Vic answered that in the thread Cpt_kirstov linked. Shipping them flat doesn't save on shipping, and they'd likely get damaged in the process.
Sigh. I'll just have to keep looking for thematically appropriate cereal boxes for my APs:
Carrion Crown - Count Chocula
Skull and Shackles - Cap'n Crunch
Jade Regent - a Cheerios box because I have so far failed to acquire any Japanese cereal boxes.
Shattered Star - I'm leaning towards Lucky Charms.

I'm paying ~$120 for each path. Cheaping out on the slipcase and demanding it for 5-7 dollars (which seems to be the major hurdle Vic was talking about in 2008) isn't what I was thinking.
Maybe costs could be kept reasonable by making one case instead of a campaign specific one for each AP. Then again it's Paizo so I'm sure they'd rather go big or go home on any product they make, which means production costs might still not be feasible.
Awesome idea though.

The french language licensee for Pathfinder products makes slip covers for APs. They are a bit pricey (just under €20), but they look quite nice.
Have a look.

Any chance paizo might be able to stock these?

Oh man.
Can Paizo get some of those in their store then?

It's 20% cheaper if you order the first five APs as a group.
Hugely expensive shipping, though. The above bundle + shipping works out to $145.22 USD, or about $30 per nice shiny box. :(

Well, never one to be defeated (and a bit impulsive), I decided to make my own.
So I jumped on Amazon, ordered myself some acid-free binding boards and hinging tape, and had a go at it.
The first attempt was a disaster. Let's just leave it at that. But my second was much better.
I took some pics for posterity (and petty messageboard self-aggrandizement).
● Ready for the second attempt
● Measured and cut (blood-free!)
● Tape attached
● Almost done
● Voila!
Not pretty, but much more stable on my book shelf. Now I just need 10 more of these puppies.

Now that's pretty sweet. Something to keep in mind with regard to measurements would be that Rise of the Runelords and Second Darkness both had alternate versions of their first installments. So, assuming that a box would contain the adventure path installments only, one would need measurements for 6- and 7-part adventure paths.

Here's a Sketchup image with my measurements and notes on how I derived those measurements. I tend to go overboard on these things and I have miserable memory, so I added some popout reminders on how to put it together.
Oh, and I think I have an idea of how I'll handle the artwork. I'll post it if it turns out half-way decent.

Liz or Vic? Is there any chance it would be possible to order these through paizo?

Thanks. I guess I'll order the boxes once they are back in stock. Or hope that Ulisses, our local publisher, starts to sell them.
