As a condition from our employer we must establish some Home Rules to keep the place in order.

What are some good rules to lay down besides the obvious "No touching other people's stuff, unless they're dead" and "No killing each other in order to legally touch each other's stuff."?

I mean, I can't see a half-orc and a Drow sharing a pantry and not eating each others' food. We also have a half-drow, 2 half-elfs, and a thing that may or may not be a dwarf. No Chaotic alignments, thankfully.

Advice?

The Exchange

An evil and neutral party?

Turn it into the Cheyenne Social Club! :)

No setting things on fire outside the fireplace. Uncontrolled fire BAD!

No calling outsiders w/o informing & discussing with all party members before hand.

No criminal activity w/o informing & discussing with all party members before hand.

No magical experimentation w/o informing & discussing with all party members before hand.

Anything not labelled in the pantry is fair game...

Well, if there's no Stupid Evil, and the Neutral people aren't a bunch of "I don't give a f*** about you, go die" types, establishing rules in terms of characters shouldn't be much of an issue.

Honestly, treat it as normal. You designate who gets what room(s), and what rooms are what. You establish basic rules, as you've said, no "eating each others food or stealing each others stuff," or "killing each other."

The thing you really need to watch out for, is the Evil characters trying to find loopholes to do their bad things, since that's generally how Lawful/Neutral Evil characters function. That is, assuming they aren't Stupid Evil and want to kill everybody because they're Evil.

-All actions concerning the property must be voted upon by all party members residing within the property with a majority rules in favor of said action.

-Any further amendments and / or stipulations upon the listed rules are subjugated to change via a majority rule and / or stipulated by owner of the said property in question.

Many thanks for the advice. It will be like The Odd Couple if the Odd Couple was 6 indivduals of 5 Races of dubious moral/ethical makeup.

I smell a sit-com!

What exactly stops people from breaking the rules?

It depends more on the characters' personalities than anything else. "Evil" doesn't mean "is kind of a jerk and eats all your food". "Drow" doesn't mean "sets the house on fire for fun". If nobody's Chaotic, it really shouldn't be a big problem.

Interesting that Roberta Yang mentioned about the Drow and fire. She burned down a bar (as per instructions from our boss) and used a Wand of Fireballs on the house owned by the same guy who ran the bar.

I'm thinking she's edging into NE territory from her listed LE.

Shadow Lodge

Also try "residents are responsible for the behavior of any guests."

EDIT: Assuming you don't have a "no guests" rule. One or the other is essential.

This sounds like a new season of The Surrreal Life: Golarion.
